    OK, I've got the game on right now, third (miserable) inning. Jones makes an error in right (on the throw), Walker and Nevin part the Red Sea and let the ball go through and Neifi juggles one but gets lucky. It's AWFUL. Like Brenly just said, "If you can stay in a game with the Cubs, eventually they'll melt down and beat themselves...." HOW TRUE! It's just SICK. I give up.....

    I took the Wrigley Field Stadium Tour on Friday (6/23). While browsing the official gift shop just inside the front gate, I noticed that the Prior and Wood jerseys were the only jerseys on the reduced sale rack. Hmmm..... is this a sign????

    Sometimes he looked good, sometimes he looked bad, but I'll tell you what, he definitely didn't look right. That worries me....

    I know he'll have his rough spots, but I'll tell you what, I need this right now! It's a bright spot for us! YES!!!!!! Gotta love it.....

    I like Womac... not sure why, but I like guys that get the job done any way they need to and get on base.. and he gets on base. Nice scrappy attitude.... I'd try him at leadoff til JP gets a little more consistent.

    I think I know what his problem is.... he plays cards with Neifi in the clubhouse. Heard him interviewed last Monday on the Score. Gotta steer clear of Neifi!! Said he likes to play cards with NP because it's funny how he pouts after he loses... wonder if he pouts after he makes TWO ERRORS on one play. Duh.

    How is Lidge doing this year? I haven't followed the Astros much. He was a big key to their success, as much as I despise him (just jealous).

    AGREED. We've drained Iowa of all it's mediocrity, I'm afraid, and no signs of rebuilding on the horizon. That's the saddest part of all.

    Seriously, this year I would not want to play the Royals and find out that answer. That would be the final nail in my coffin, I'm afraid. I'm better off imagining a Cubs-Royals series!

    The difference is that they had a few decent pitchers, we don't, with regularity. There's no one on the starting staff that you can go to and be confident in a solid effort on a regular basis. At this point, we have "inconsistent potential." Enough said.

    With two out, bottom of the ninth, my soon-to-be nine-year-old daughter says, "We're winning. We're gonna win!" I told her it was the Cubs and that there was still one more out. Two seconds later, it happened. Then she asked if she could turn the channel. OF COURSE YOU CAN ... FOR THE REST OF TEH SUMMER! I've had it ....

    I'd settle for scoring more than one run on a regular basis. They are just beyond hope. D Lee can't save this. I wish people would quit going back to that poing. I think D is gonna break is other wrist soon so he doesn't have to come back. I would.

    You just have to feel sorry for D Lee sitting there watching all of this go on and know he can do nothing about it. Can't he hit one-armed as a DH in Interleague games? Ha ha. Well, I hope he's back for the next Sox series.

    Come on... you know they wouldn't do what they're doing there, if they were with us! They had to get traded to perform.

    Overuse EARLY ON is a big deal. I've seen it with my son. He was 12 and threw six innings in a tough game, lots of pitches, on a 90 degree day. He tells the coach he can't throw any more... he can't even see the catcher. The coac tells him he has to ... gets down on his knees. It's sickening... total lost of perspective, and I bet with guys like Prior and Wood it started WAY before high school. High school just pushed it over the edge. Don't get me started.

    Today on the Mike North Show they had AJP on there and in the background his kid was crying and his wife was running the garbage disposal. It was classic. He's full of it. Mr. Innocent. And now people wanna lump Barrett in there with him. That stinks. Whatever Barrett is, it's very different from AJ.

    Most "real" Cub fans are very knowledgeable. They know the game, they read about their team and they are hopeful but realistic. The key is TRUE CUB fan. A lot of people call themselves Cubs fans but they're really not. The real deal ones bleed Cubbie blue, no doubt. And boy are we bleeding this year!

    Hi, I heard that on the Score today, too. Regardless of who did what on Sat or Sun, I'm sick of Ozzie and AJP. If you listen to AJP talk, he's gonna sprout wings and take up a post at the Pearly Gates. Spare me the details AJ.

    I listened to tall the talk today on WSCR and they were saying that Dusty will get an extension. Seriously, WHY? I can't think of ONE reason why. I wish my work world was like that... are you an underperformer? How about an extension. It's just so insane.

    The announcers (DJ I think) were saying that since Rich Hill was doing so good in Iowa, he should be able to come up to the Bigs and do the same. OK, SHOULD is the operative word there. It's not happening.

    If Dusty likes you, you're IN. He must really like Hill. Seems like Marshall is the only good thing Iowa has put out lately... and Cedeno. Maybe we need to shake things up in Des Moines, too.

    For crying out loud... 1 for 27? How do these guys stay in the Major Leagues? Are there ANY good Minor League prospect catchers to be had?????? Can we get back Jody Davis? Bruce Foote? Tim Blackwell? Even at age 50 they'd be a better option!
