    Right. They'd be foolish not to take someone from Iowa if they could. You never know when a 19-inning game might magically appear.

    I think whatever it was, it was on his mind this past weekend, so it's best if he just goes and takes care of it.

    Seriously, this is NOT what I needed to hear today. I wonder if whatever it is, he had it on his mind this past weekend because he sure struggled. Hope he can get it taken care of, and that it turns out OK and he can come back hot.

    I think it's OK especially with him being new to the league. And when you compare him to Edmonds with his bum foot and the circus in left lately, he looks REALLY good!

    It's not so much long term that I worry about, or the core of the team, it's more the other things like regularly swinging at terrible pitches (desperation?), hitting into too many double plays and suddenly not being able to have success with RISP. Supposedly Z is pitching Friday against the Cardinals, so it's my hope from that we'll just ride the high there.

    The thing is, most years for the Cubs all these rookies getting a go on the big leagues wouldn't be any big deal. They team normally isn't that great so go for it. But this year we have more than a realistic chance, and half the time our lineup is full of rookies. And add to that trying a rookie at a new position? It's just nuts. On the plus side EPatt makes Soriano's defense in left field look superb What irritates me the most about him is half the time he seems to not only blow the play but totally dog it. Friday was just unbearable in that regard.

    Regardless of the reasons or his experience in the position, it's killing this team right now. The Sox made a joke out of him Friday, trying to purposely hit it to him, run on him, and test his arm at every possible turn, and he failed it every time, too. There was a point in Friday's game where I couldn't even stand to watch another ball go out there!!!

    as if this wasn't bad enough, i've got gn on the radio and the tv muted, and the radio is about 4 seconds ahead

    the team is just at its worst right now with lee slumping, johnson and edmonds hurting and Z questionable at best.... you can't throw murton, cedeno, marshall and whoever else in there and think it's gonna keep up especially if marmol and eyre have many more innings like the one yesterday
