  1. I don't see the Cards making it to the playoffs this year.

  3. I do agree that Soto needs to be on everyone's list. It's not so much about his numbers, it's more that he serves the role as team leader and seems to really want to make it work with the pitchers... seems to know how to handle them. We needed that on this team. I just love his energy, too. Seems like a true team player
  4. It might not be a popular choice, but I would think Theriot needs to be in the top 5. He has been consistently good all year while playing every day, unlike Soriano, Soto, and Edmunds. I could not agree more. When I saw the list of the original 5, my first thought was that Theriot was not there. He does play every day and his defense is good. He's often and unsung hero, not a lot of flash, but I don't think the Cubs are where they are without him. He doesn't play everyday, his defense isn't that good, and he's only marginally productive. Theriot does play every day and he's in the top ten avg. for the NL. He gets on base and has a good eye for the strike zone. I'd only put everyday players on that list. I like Edmonds, always have, but the more he plays, the more his productivity goes down. He plays more than anyone else on that list, his defense is good enough, and he's productive enough to be the starting SS on the most productive team in the majors.

  6. Yeah, D Lee would have never done that!
  7. And this is a crazy one. I'm down in Joliet, and this round of storms is 30 mi. north and its lighting up down here like it's right above us. Totally nuts.
  8. Theriot, Lee and Harden should be fresh at least.
  9. I never liked Berkman, but man, now I've actually got a REAL reason to laugh at him!
  10. I was at the JackHammers game yesterday. They now have former Sox shortstop Mike Caruso and Johnny Gomes brother. Cool, I was there too.... fun game with two grand slams in one inning... Backman ripped them in the paper today
  11. If they stop it again, would that be it?
  12. I used to like to watch Byrdak pitch for our Independent League team, the JackHammers.
  13. I had SRO for the "first" night game (rain out) and that was just nuts. We were soaked, but man it was a blast.
  14. Empty seats and Wrigley? What? ha ha
  15. When do I get my turn?
  16. Wow. I hadn't even heard he was sick. That's a shame.
  17. I think in time he will find a middle ground that will work and make him a good coach. He was such a quiet player, and is such a vocal coach. Gotta find the happy place between those two at some point.
  18. Why did they keep him on such a low pitch count today?
  19. I agree, but it's nuts to make some blanket statement about him based on the Chiefs job.
  20. He was one of the best Cubs ever. I love how people just judge him by his minor league coaching.
