  1. If the comatose offense isn't bad enough, there's been a lot of great defensive plays against us
  2. The rain is being pushed SE now, looks like the heavy stuff won't hit Wrigley Hopefully
  3. Lou does that annually: in 2007 and this season, he tried batting Soriano 3rd. In 2008, he started the season with Theriot and Soriano hitting 1-2. It only ever lasts a few games because when it comes to lineups, Lou has the attention span of a child. Now, I don't know wheter the aforementioned decisions were reversed by Lou or by Soriano, but so far as we know, it's not as if they've been jonesing to try it for three seasons and Soriano's put his foot down every time. This time, its not so much to help the offesne but to limit the damage. We need a leadoff hitter that can get on base. In all seriousness, who, currently available on the team or Minors, is that leadoff hitter? All the experiments seem to be a bust, so who would be the next legitimate candidate? I really believe this is the No. 1 issue with the offense, though there are plenty lined up right behind that issue.
  4. I'm at the point just put all their names in a hat and pick and go from there.
  5. The battery life is bad compared to other phones, I think. I just bought a new protector case with a lithium ion battery that gives it twice the juice. The downside is the case causes the phone to lose bars in some spots. Overall, the iPhone is the single best thing I've ever bought. It has so much utility for me. I'd have to agree with how you summed it up. Had mine almost two years now and it's been a lifesaver on a few levels and even without anything extra, it's easy to check scores. I'll have to look into that protector case.
  6. Soriano is a mess in just about every way imaginable.
  7. Thanks for sparing me the fake rally torture
  8. He was never going to be an everyday player. Miles was brought in to play somewhat regularly. Am I missing something? Aaron Miles, that is how you spell the name right? No, just the idea of Miles playing regularly is hilariously stupid. GROSS understatement there....
  9. Yeah, naturally I have a meeting. Figures.
  10. Geez. It's been dry here on the south side for almost two hours. Maybe it was just to wet on the grass, we got about two inches here today. Any makeup date announced yet? We might get plenty of baseball in October with this team yet.... LOL!
  11. Its south of Wilmington, so that's pretty far south.... DARN.
  12. Come on, rain, STOP! It looked hopeful then it started downpouring. On the radar the rain keeps rebuilding southwest here where I am, but hopefully it can pass south of Wrigley because you sure can't see a foot in front of you as hard as it is coming down here.
  13. Don't it figure?????
  14. Truly 50/50 I would say I'd agree. I haven't put the weather on but I'm going to. It started out looking like a passing thing, but boy has it settled here on the south side. Yesterday was such a nice day for a ball game, too.
  15. It's complicated, but my personal opinion is that a big key at this point is Soriano. First, he's the leadoff hitter and sets a tone. Beyond that, there's something electric about him when he's on, and it seems contagious. He's nothing short of amazing when he's in the zone. Obviously, getting Aram back is huge, but we know that's not going to happen anytime soon, so we have to just move on for now. At this point I can't even remember him being in the lineup, so it's just gonna be that much sweeter when he does come back. That'll be a big shot in the arm. I just hope they hang in there until then.
  16. I have a feeling they'll be hitting good today. Wildcard is if Lilly is at his usual greatness. CUBS WIN!
  17. My opinion is subject to change, but I just refuse to believe that Fukudome isn't going to turn it around. If it happens again, then something's gotta change next year, at least we Cubs fans not getting fooled by it again
  18. I can see both sides of it. Lou can't make them do anything they don't want to do, they're grown men. But it just doesn't seem to me that Lou has taken his efforts to the next level, whatever that is, and thought outside the box. He's got the talent on this team, and if he can't figure it out, then maybe he can reach out to someone who can.
  19. Can't know if it'll fit in the budget until the sale goes through. I'll pitch in a buck.
  20. My kid's Little League team always did better if they promised them a dollar for the concession stand after the game if they won. It's worth a shot.....
  21. lol I said BOLD lol More like a drunken prediction.
