  1. Watching the replays....that was ALMOST as bad as some of the baserunning gaffes by Alou a couple of years ago....
  2. How in the world can Greg let a slow guy like Poo-Holes steal 2nd that easily off of him? Geez.
  3. He's just making sure the Cards fans enjoy the same cold showers that the Cards players do at Wrigley.
  4. You know, after all the years that LaRussa has managed, you'd think he'd realize that our pitcher likely WASN'T throwing at his hitter on purpose, given that he had a 1-2 count on him and we obviously didn't want to put another guy on base with Edmonds coming up. What a tool. Hope we put one in Poo-Holes' earhole tomorrow.
  5. Hopefully. Don't want to disappoint Jim Edmonds' hopes for a "Class A" experience.
  6. Geez, we're at 3 hours now and only in the 7th inning....wow.
  7. Can anyone tell me if they see a small difference in JP's swing from the beginning of the year? He couldn't hit the ball 3 feet in the air for a while, and now he is actually getting the ball up-I'm just wondering if he might have changed anything to make that happen. Seems like he has a shorter, quicker swing now, like he has figured out that he doesn't have a lot of power and just needs to hit well-placed balls to get on base. Earlier in the year it seemed like he was being too aggressive with his swing itself and pitchers were taking advantage of it.
  8. Bwuahahahahaha!!! Another costly error for Rolen against the Cobs!!
  9. Yep, that's what I thought. The ump should definitely have brought Eckstein back to the plate there.
  10. Eckstein sure made an effort to get out of the way of that pitch, didn't he? I thought the rules say you have to at least make it LOOK like you don't want to get hit....
  11. A leadoff double and nothing to show for it..... :sigh:
  12. A few nights ago, HR and Kruk got into a pretty heated argument on the air about something (can't even remember what, I think it was whether A-Rod should be traded). Wonder if that had anything to do with it.....doubt that it was the sole reason for him getting fired but may have been the last straw. Maybe something else happened off the air after that.
  13. Wonderful. Time to go outside and find something constructive to do.
  14. Amazingly, yes. There goes the Nat's hopes for a shutout.....the hopes for a sweep are still very much alive. Wonder how long its been since the Nat's swept an opponent...
  15. Agreed. We should allow the opposing teams to clog the bases. It can only help us by increasing the possibility of them becoming confused on the basepaths.
  16. How long has it been since Neifi had a clutch hit with RISP? If its been recent, my apologies, but I don't remember a recent instance of this.
  17. The ESPN ticker just listed Prior as the starter....
  18. Redemption for Ronnie.......Greg is by far the best fielding pitcher on the Cubs right now.
  19. Great job on not making the tag, Ronnie. WTF is he doing tonight....
  20. Man...that's the second time tonight that Ronnie has swung at the high heat and missed for the K.
  21. Looked like Roger might have gotten the benefit of the doubt on that call against Theriot....
