Come on, the last time I checked the players making the money on the field ultimately determine wins and losses. How bout we blame our "sure thing" closer who gave up two hits before the Piazza round tripper. Sure, I didn't agree with Dusty having Hairston SAC the runner to third in the 8th or Barrett not pitch hitting for Blanco, but we still had a two-run lead at that point. This lost is on DEMPSTER having A, AS IN ONE, bad outing. Don't you agree that it would have been smart for Dusty to be putting Dempster in for some innings in non-save situations to keep him sharp?

Actually, just checked Mediacom's schedule.....for those of us here in Iowa, they are televising the game live tonight. Channel 22 for those in the Des Moines area....

Its pretty chilly and windy here right now, shouldn't affect attendance though. They're estimating a record crowd of over 15,000 for tonight's game. I tried to get tickets on Tuesday night but reserved seating was already sold out and only general admission/standing room tickets were being sold. I was hoping Mediacom would televise the game like they did last time Kerry was here, but I don't believe they are going to tonight. Too bad the rest of the Iowa Cubs team sucks this year......guess the big boys aren't faring too much better right now. Another day, another loss.
