  1. Seriously, crap like this makes it easier to believe in curses.
  2. There's a god? My pastor once told me that her mother wanted nothing more than to see the damn White Sox win it all before she died. She then quoted the scripture that says 'god will give you the desires of your heart.' Now tell me there's a god. I know I shouldn't take this crap hard, but I can't figure out how to not let it bother me, or figure out how to stop following the cubs.
  3. WHat's really sad is that StL had the worst record of all the NL playoff teams. The wildcard team was even better! I mean, come ON! 83-78? THat's IMHO, pathetic! People talk about getting rid of the wildcard format... I think this last season is a great argument against that.
  4. From The Onion: http://www.theonion.com/content/node/54216
  5. When I saw this thread, I thought it said FIRE and INSANITY!!!
  6. IMHO, he said all the right things. I actually felt that the Cubs made the right decision. However, talk is cheap. Let's wait and see the action.
  7. IMHO, a good manager is just as important as good players.. I mean, come on... How many times has Dusty left pour pitchers in too long? IMHO, Its 65% Dusty's fault what happened to the pitching staff. How many times has he left them in longer than he should have? How many times did he put Nerfi in the lineup? How many questionable substitutions did he make? Look, a skilled chess player can win playing with only pawns (It'd be difficult but possible), but a horrible chess player will lose even if he has all Queens to use. We just ended up having the worst of both worlds.
  8. Buh Bye! Wait till next year!
  9. If bad managers were stand up comedians, Wrigley would be the Improv.
  10. I was just sitting here thinking of a different song to parody, and I said to myself... "Self, wouldn't it be cool if people showed up at Wrigley with signs reading 'Domo Arrigato Carlos Zambrano'?
  11. Just taking a moment to tell the folks over at Goatriders that I appreciate the insight and humor over there.. It (almost) makes a losing season bearable!
  12. Yahoo! News is reporting that Dusty is gone... Baker Out
  13. RE: That 'ten things to improve Cubs karma' list... IMHO, there is at least one thing on the list that I'd be in favor of. Not flying the 'L' flag.
  14. I always get frustrated with the 'good pitching beats good hitting' people. WHile what they say is true, if your team isn't hitting the ball, even one mistake from a good pitcher seals yyour fate. Defense and offense are equally important. A lot of people esp. in the front office don't seem to realize this.
  15. Just cut it out O_O because your post has effected my whole day and now I'm going to make 2 errors and swing at every pitch. LOL!
  16. I close my eyes... Only for a moment and the game is done Fourteen-three Three grand slams, two errors, and the Cardinals won. Dusty can't win. All we know is Dusty can't win.
  17. Hendry better be on the phone to him 30 seconds later. If Hendry is the GM for those 30 seconds.
  18. It was time to win the WS 97 years ago.
  19. It doesn't concern the YAnkees or Red Sox.
  20. You think the Trib is feeling how p-oed the fans are?
  21. He gaw! Oh, excuse me... I channeled the spirit of another baseball team in Chicago.
  22. "Daddy, why do you smell like a brewery? Stop hitting me!!!"
  23. The announcement is that they're making an annouoncement tomorow.
  24. Here's to hoping that Krusty Krab... Err... Dusty Baker is gone!
