  1. Yes he did! Sometimes it pays to be out of control.
  2. Agreed.
  3. FWIW, anyone in the Chicagoland area can watch McDonough on ChicagoTribune Live on Comcast Sports Net. He is on right now, but he has been on for a good fifteen minutes already so I'm not sure how much longer the interview will be. Anyways he is really stressing the idea of Lou Piniella as someone here to win and his refusal to deal with players who do not play hard everyday.
  4. he is a good player, but he's also overrated. he's being paid like one of the best players in baseball, and he clearly isn't. How is he overrated? Please no stats involved. Your opinion. And I agree with you that he doesn't deserve to get a $136 million dollar contract. But I will never consider him to be overrated. i think jacque jones is better than albert pujols. prove me wrong...oh, and please no stats involved. Pujols is the games best fastball hitter. He has great plate discipline, plays a solid D at 1B, gets on base, hits for power, hits for a high average, team player, and he runs the bases well. And he has a MVP award. Jones does all that better. Prove me wrong. Plus, Jones bounces the ball into second base with the best of them.
  5. Agreed!
  6. Yoda? Is that you? I do agree, however. Plus, even if it was a possibility (would hope it is not) GMJ probably would steer clear of the Cubs considering they already traded him once and did not retain his father as coach. Unless of course the Cubs want to be highest bidders in the GMJ sweepstakes. Then he may consider another go at Wrigley.
  7. How many games did the Tigers lose with Neifi Perez as leadoff hitter? I would attribute those losses to him. Actually, I'm kidding. At least he did recognize that putting Perez at leadoff was not going to work out. I think he inherited a team that just seemed to come in to it's own. That being said, he was the right person at the right time for the Tigers in my opinion.
  8. Should have kept Abreu in RF (Howard, Utley and Abreu and the right side).
  9. When did Omar Vizquel find the fountain of youth?
  10. All of MLB owns the Cubs. Winning record against the NL central by a couple of games. Not anything to brag about, but the Cubs aren't owned in their own division.
  11. Baker must be so envious of Felipe Alou and the Giants. Alou has a team stacked with grizzled vets.
  12. How long until the weekend heroics of Gary Bennett show up on youtube.com?
  13. Are you serious? You want Ramirez to hold him on??? He's talking about when he stole second.
  14. I was wondering that too. His lead was huge. Just throw over to get him to take a shorter lead.
  15. And that is why you are not a major league manager. right handed?
  16. Good thing ESPN isn't talking about Albert Pujols ad nauseam.
