  1. Yesterday Alexei Ramirez and today Bryan Anderson...meh.
  2. He looks like Jose Canseco did, all puffy. Eh maybe it is just me. He's damn good though. It's not just you. I thought Canseco when I saw him in his first AB tonight... The batting stance and the hair.
  3. Can we borrow Dan Haren or Brandon Webb for a few months? We'll give either back in December, swear! :( Do you post at Diamondbacks Bullpen?
  4. Did Lou get ejected? I just got home. Yeah, apparently "swinging" is no longer a strike for the white sox, so lou killed, fried, and ate the umpire. Did he start throwing bases or something? Anybody have a video? I can probably get one He got in the umps mug. But, it was pretty tame.
  5. Cabrera was playing behind the runner at second. He would have fielded that.
  6. Dempster today against Contreras is definitely in favor of the Cubs. But, the next two games favor the Sox in pitching matchups. A good thing is that they miss Danks who pitched well again yesterday.
  7. Yeah, the reports of AJ being a "douche" are highly exaggerated. For some reason everybody hates him, but during interviews and such, he's just like any other ballplayer. I honestly don't know where the anger started. I don't recall any hatred toward him or issues while in Minnesota although I definitely could be wrong since I focus more on the National League. The first issue(s) I can remember were with his teammates in SF and it seems that those were just blown out of proportion. I think he kicked the trainer in the nuts while in SF. Was that ever confirmed? I recall SF reporters saying it happened during spring training, but I don't think anyone actually ever went on record including anyone from the Giants. That story just seems strange because I would think it would have blown up into a much larger situation whether it be lawsuit(s) or a suspension for AJ. I'm not saying it didn't happen, but the details seem a bit murky.
  8. They're only 4.5 games out. I'm not sure why people think they want to trade their best pitcher. I'm also not sure why we'd be willing to give up much of anything for a guy who has averaged 15 starts per season over the last four years. Beane was burned on the Giambi deal, and he hasn't let another player walk via FA since. If he doesn't think he can afford to resign him in the offseason, he'll be dealt, unless they're looking like strong WS contenders, and not just a borderline playoff team. Zito walked via FA. Obviously Beane hasn't gotten burned in that deal so far but he still let Zito walk. He had no intentions of tendering him as he wasn't good at the end. Not the same. Plus, he did try to get a Zito deal done for Milledge from the Mets. If I recall correctly the negotiating went to the end of the trading deadline, but Minaya decided not to make the trade. Beane could have shopped seriously elsewhere, but he may have thought that Minaya would ultimately end up parting with Milledge for Zito since the Mets were in playoff contention.
  9. Not that I want the Cubs to get him because I don't, but Sabean needs to unload Lewis. Lewis isn't close enough to collecting social security.

  11. I'm almost positive WGN has the Sox, CSN has Len and Bob That's right. Friday - CSN (Len & Bob) Saturday - FOX Sunday - ESPN
  12. No, Jones was better than Pie, and Sherill was better than Ceda. Not to mention the Orioles got 3 more pitchers with that deal, including 2 very intriguing ones. Sherill at the time was considered the 3rd player in that deal behind Jones and Tillman. And to think the Orioles almost did pull the trigger on that trade because Brandon Morrow wasn't included.
  13. i enjoy the fact that a slow person can be an NBA player He's a cross between Lou Ferrigno & Sideshow Bob.
  14. Did they say Gordon was high school's Mr. Illinois?
  15. Trainer out to see Eyre. When it rains, it pours.
  16. There's no excuse for the Cubs not to be in the Orioles bullpen by now.
  17. Well, Jim Palmer said he didn't believe 7 runs would be enough today. There you go Jim...make it 8.
  18. It just seems that they don't need to be so hesitant with the bullpen considering Dempster is going tomorrow.
  19. He's their top pitching prospect and was one of the top pitching prospects in all the minors. Granted his status has fallen a lot.
  20. The Cubs just need to get out of this inning and make Radhames Liz throw pitches. He doesn't seem to handle that too well. I would be surprised not to see the Cubs score a good amount of runs today.
  21. The Brewers ran up his pitch count last week & it was effective. He just becomes a hard thrower with nothing off speed. Atleast that was the result last week.
