  1. thank god i read this thread because i was goign to buy a new home and road cap before the season started. i really hope they come out with the st patricks day cap like this also i also hope that the sizes will be a truer fit, i could go to a store and find 3 different size hats that fit the same. the price dosent bother me, especially since you can find them cheaper
  2. winrar. type it into yahoo search, just another version of zip
  3. notice how there are no EA sports games on that list? its EA not the 360
  4. im sure people said the same thing about Maddux in 92 They didn't trade Maddux though. People wouldn't be nearly so bent on the Maddux situation if we had, say, Chipper Jones to show for it. And people would be more bent on it if we had, say, Todd Van Poppel and 1 less year of Maddux to show for it. which in that case wouldve been his first cy young

People wouldn't be nearly so bent on the Maddux situation if we had, say, Chipper Jones to show for it. i know we didnt trade him but he was pretty much told we can get more players in the amount it would cost us for you. Those players didnt do much of anything to remember I think it's disingenuous to say that this situation is analogous to Maddux. Indeed. Having 2 or 3 elite prospects, plus $15M or so to reallocate to veterans, is a completely different circumstance than just having the $15M to spend. i was comparing it more to he possibly could go to the Cards or White Sox and win a few cy youngs while we decent players but nothing to show for it.
  6. Imagine if Prior was healthy too... in 2003 form i would cry

  8. im sure people said the same thing about Maddux in 92 im sure the cubs did not get a Brandon Wood and Nick Adenhart for getting rid of Maddux in 92 no but they did get a Kevin Orie who turned into a prospect as good as Nick Adenhart... Adenhart has already had 1 tommy john
  9. im sure people said the same thing about Maddux in 92 im sure the cubs did not get a Brandon Wood and Nick Adenhart for getting rid of Maddux in 92 no but there is nothing saying any prospects will be as good as everyone thinks they will be
  10. There's just no way you get that much for Z when he is a budding (and likely VERY costly) free agent. I would do it for Weaver and Kendrick alone. I disagree, come July someone would pay mightily to add Zambrano. which all depends on the performance of the team
  11. im sure people said the same thing about Maddux in 92

  13. there is no way they can say they want to win now and trade Zambrano unless they get big name players (more than 1) in return
  14. prospects that may never amount to nothing
  15. watch the rerun on CLTV in 1 hour
  16. if he dosent have a contract done before the start of the season He said it on WGN 9pm news http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/cs-070212cubszambrano,1,1013239.story?coll=cs-home-headlines
  17. if hes anything like Roger Clemems? quite awhile
  18. It will be better than listening to Joe Buck: OMG OMG OMG THERE HE IS, Albert Pujols, You know tim there is a rumor going around that he is a desendant of Babe Ruth. he is the best baseball player EVAR Tim: YOu know joe, i heard that too and i think that could possibly be true as well. I wanted to catch behind him one day just to see what it would be like but i came to the conclusion that i might fall over because of the wind coming off one of his swings
  19. Bruce Miles was talking about this today on sportscentral
  20. not sure i like that hat i wasant thrilled with it so i didnt buy it. i liked the old one more.
  21. I'm thinking oldstyle needs to put down the Old Style when posting. :D im at my parents and im not used to this keyboard at all
  22. how many people played with Ron Santos number after he retired? I think at least half a dozen. Did people cry when Mark Guthrie had the audacity to take Fergie Jenkins and Maddux's 31 ? (not directed at you, just sayin overall) I love this argument! Somehow, the fact that Guthrie wore #31 makes it okay for Marquis to wear #21. Marquis shouldn't be wearing Sammy's number. The Cubs shouldn't have made it available. I blame the Cubs. I don't wish bad fortune on Marquis, but I wonder about his thought process in accepting the number. Does he not know it was Sammy's? Sammy isint even out of baseball yet where as by the time guthrie wore 31, Jenkins was a hall of famer
  23. went down to the shops across from wrigley, CUbs world has the new BP hats but not the jerseys, wrigleyvillesports has its usual stock
  24. i disagree wit hthe worst moment for francis beltran, the loss he was part of against the cards was many times worse. if i remembe correctly we had a 9 run lead and he gave up 3 or 4 walks and a few runs
