I know this is partly a reaction to two awesome Cubs wins, but I'm really feeling good about the Cubs' chances this year. Z, Dempster, and Harden have been lights-out, and Lilly has been solid. Marquis still sucks, but our would-be playoff rotation is formidable. In the bullpen, Howry has been awful lately and Lou needs to stop using him when the game is on the line, but I've been really impressed with Gaudin. If Samardzija can keep up being close to as good as he has been, the back of our bullpen is loaded with wood, marmol, gaudin, and shark. As for the offense, Ward is still close to useless and fukudome has to work out some issues, but I really like fontenot and johnson off the bench. Edmonds and theriot have been pleasant surprises this year, and soriano seems to be back. If lee, ramirez, and soto can completely break out of their slumps, the cubs' offense is close to unstoppable.
