  1. Kind of a "spin off" of this...since there are a lot of people who think that "order" doesn't matter...and since Soriano seems dead set on the "leadoff" spot...how bout we do something a little "less traditional" with our #3 hole. Leave Soriano in the 1 hole...he gets to lead off still...power...speed...even if its a Low OBP...then start off with our more "traditional" leadoff candidates...theriot, followed by Murton, our better 2 hole guy...and construct the line up from there on Soriano Theriot Murton Lee Ramirez Barrett Derosa Pie It lets Soriano lead off yet still gives us the best chance of having guys on in front of our other boppers. We want lee, aram to get as many AB as possible. They are locked in the 3-4 spots.
  2. I said meaningless situations (didn't I?), which implies lack of production as mostly a middle of the order hitter. Jacque Jones is hitting to the tune of .188/.350/.188 with runners in scoring position, with a torrid .176/.176/.176 when the team needed him the most (5th slot, sample size be damned). In addition, he's dead last amongst starting NL right fielders in RBIs, total bases and extra base hits, and next-to-last in RBI chances and OPS (zero HRs) - all this to a player that shouldn't be a starter in this league, ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Randy Winn. If it wasn't for that hit with the bases loaded against the Cards, he'd have been hands down the worst hitting outfielder in the majors with more than 80 plate appearances. I agree that Jones should not start.
  3. Sigh. I know. Thanks for letting me know there's other parts of this website. My point is that Theriot's run production has not been discussed as much as defensive liability. The fact remains this guy may be our biggest run producer outside of the obvious DLee or aRam. His runs scored only tell you that he gets on a lot, and has been in the 1 or 2 spot every day he's played (with the biggest RBI threats right behind him). Plus he has been used as a pinch runner several times, which don't give him an at-bat but sometimes a run scored. Theriot probably should have actually scored more runs then he has-he hasn't been good on the basepaths so far. I just think its ridiculous that a 390K player is outproducing half the team. It just cant be ignored, and I don't think its a fluke either. We sign Soriano with the intention to play CF, he isn't. We sign DeRosa with the intention to play 2B, he shouldn't be. Where's the faith in our system? I disagree. I think Derosa has been playing very well.
  4. What does this mean? rorrim a ni kool ahh
  5. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2850281 Taken to hospital for stitches. Seems like he'll be alright.
  6.
  7. They've already got Jeter, and Izturis bat doesn't play anywhere. Especially not 3B. Fine. Izturis, Jones, Eyre for Jeter, ARod. Yanks better take it before we change our mind.
  8. When is a decision going to be made? Give the man a chance to check the forum first. haha yea sorry i didn't realize texascub posted this morning.
  9. Dislik Noce !?! Unacceptable.
  10. I like the sig, but it doesn't really portray the intense pain I assume is associated with being a Bucs fan. Neither does yours. We shouldn't be talking about pain.
  11. Atta boy, Sammy! I sense a hot streak coming. As we all know, NOBODY gets hotter than Sammy when he's hitting well. Nobody. Macias will argue with you there.
  12. Anyone? This one's the best I've found. http://www.basketballforum.com/chicago-bulls/ I used to post there a lot, but I'm not as into basketball as I am baseball. I used to be over there a lot, but now I use http://www.realgm.com/boards/viewforum.php?f=10. They seem to have more active posting there. Knowledgeable? And thanks
  13. If you read all of the other discussions about Theriot, you'd see that the majority of members on this forum, if not everyone, agree that Theriot should be the everday starting SS.
  14. Sorry to post something unrelated to the thread, but can someone help me with my sig? I tried to change it but it's not working again.
  15. And it's not even warm yet....
  16. St. Louis tied it up. Pitt took a 2-1 lead.
  17. We are in last place. Shhhh :-& Ahhh...He meant Pitt. Oh. Haha  When someone says "We're" I assume he means the Cubs. Didn't know we had Pitt fans on this site. It's ok I thought he meant the Cubs too.
  18. Pittsburgh gets out of the inning unscathed.
  19. 4-1 Houston bottom 4. 1-0 Houston top 6. Houston has bases loaded and nobody out. Comon Pitt!!!!!
  20. Maybe, though no significant improvement (Saber heads, can you corroborate?) can be attested since he hasn't produced at all in the middle of the lineup yet. I like Pie's upside and speed at the bottom of the order. Let alone the circus playing Soriano, Jones and Floyd together can be. Yeah, defensively there is no doubt I would feel more comfortable with Pie in CF. What I would really like to see is Soriano in RF and Murton/Floyd in LF but it looks like Lou is pretty set on having Sori in LF. Yeah, he doesn' want to have to make Soriano learn ANOTHER new position.
