What impact does it have? Setting the Cubs opponent in the first round? I fear the dodgers far more than the mets. Plus, I DO NOT want to see gallardo, sheets, and sabathia in a possible nlcs Personally, I'd rather see Pittsburgh, San Diego and Atlanta as the other opponents. The Cubs will have to beat good teams in the playoffs. But if it's a sizeable difference, why not take the worse team?

I tend to agree with you here. In the grand scheme of things a W or L doesn't matter too much... but there are certain elements within the game that I do think are important... getting Sori's stroke back, maybe getting Kosuke a few good ABs... important bullpen outings etc... But I guess more than anything, I don't want to see any other team celebrate a clinching of any kind at our expense. I don't want to see the Brewers untuck 'em in a clinching situation, just like I don't want to see anyone clinch anything against us in the playoffs. It's one thing to lose a game... but it's another thing to look silly in doing so... whether the game means anything in the standings or not. You actually are agreeing with him for a completely different reason. I agree with dexter. If you think winning is important just for the reasons above, I don't agree with you.

I don't find it amusing. I DO NOT want brewers in over mets. Philly Mets Brewers LA CC's workload Sheets Elbow Bullpen Defense In a 7 games series that team doesn't scare me at all. Santana/Pedro is a pretty tough combo in a short series in OCT. If Santana is available for just one game in a five game series the Mets are in trouble. They are in inferior to the Dodgers, IMO. I would rather face a tired Mets team that has Santana for just one game than a well rested Dodgers team that is on a roll. If santana pitches saturday, he'd pitch thursday in game 2. This would make him available for game 5.
