  1. I sorta see your point with basketball or hockey but football playoffs are about as random as you can get. The Dodgers are very capable of beating the Cubs 3 out of 5 so I don't think they choked or anything if it happens. I'd expect fans to still be let down by it. It will be a huge letdown for me. People may not believe me but 2003 did not end up being a huge letdown to me because that team kind of came out of nowhere. They were 51-53 at one point and then surged big time to end the season. They won the division with 87/88 wins and certainly were not widely considered favorites in the playoffs. They beat a 100+ win Atlanta team for the first playoff series win since 1908. It was a fun, unexpected ride to me. 2007 sucked a bit more.....3 game sweep and gone. But still, last year's team wasn't great by any measure. This season means more to me because the Cubs have been the best team in the NL for pretty much the entire season. We can actually sit here and say we expect to get to the World Series and not sound crazy. I know the playoffs can be cruel and the best team certainly does not always win a short series but man, that NL pennant is there for the taking and it looks so damn tantalizing. :beg: 2003 just about crippled me because they were SO damn close, unexpected or not. 2004, for me, hurt worst of all. I thought that team had everything going for it and that final collapse was just soul-crushing. This season would be the worst for me. I have the most confidence in them this year than I have had in any of the years.
  2. what planet are you from If you can be happy with a first round loss, bravo Kyle. I would be furious.
  3. This was in yesterday's paper: http://www.suntimes.com/sports/baseball/cubs/1189384,CST-SPT-cubnt28.article
  4. You didn't read this thread did you? There are days (Game 1, 2,3,5) when it's Time 1 or 2....they still haven't officially announced the actual times. So yes, I did.
  5. I didn't want to make a new thread, so I'll ask here... when are the times going to be announced? Are they really going to wait until the AL Central is decided (that shouldn't affect the times...)?
  6. Who do u want...not think
  7. Edit the thread to be preview of playoffs.
  8. Self explanatory Cole Hamels vs. possibly healthy Sabathia/Sheets/Gallardo
  9. I'm freaking out.
  10. me Does the box that opens just freeze as a white screen? This is pissing me off, I want to watch the Mets get booed off the field. http://www.justin.tv/ltvn4
  11. Self explanatory
  12. Dodgers: Cons - Manny Ramirez Mets: Pros - no Manny Ramirez
  13. http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20080927&content_id=3560251&vkey=news_chc&fext=.jsp&c_id=chc Not official, but article says the bullpen will be Wood, Marmol, Howry, Shark, Cotts, Marshall, Marquis. (unless injury) Which means Gaudin and Weurtz out, as we suspected.
  14. I am, although I think suppan is the 4th starter
  15. But if they don't have a playoff game, it's like the saving Z for game 4 scenario
  16. It is probably illegal, although I think you should be okay. They don't have a lot of baseball games normally, although they do have every NFL game every week. I haven't noticed viruses, but it does give spyware, which is fixed for me by running spysweeper after i watch games on there.
