  1. Can someone describe what just happened? I have a feeling gameday isn't doing it justice.
  2. The "concentration" reference seems to be them saying they aren't sure what's going on. That seems like a cop out to me.
  3. That'd mess up the White Sox commercials.
  4. Frustrated Packers consider trading Favre to Vikings or Bears
  5. Credit to GRB for posting this, and credit to me for stealing it. http://www.twincities.com/dailydose/ci_10027185
  6. Ok, they have this photo gallery of the best deadline deals of the wildcard era, and the Aramis deal was one of them, and that's great. But could they have found a goofier photo of him? http://vault.sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vault/gallery/featured/GAL1141251/7/22/index.htm http://i.cdn.turner.com/sivault/multimedia/photo_gallery/0806/mlb.best.deadline.deals/images/aramis-ramirez.jpg
  7. Funny, but not nearly as awesome as Chris Cooley's description on KSK. You mind pasting it? I'm trying to limit my work based internet surfing :)
  8. Tommie Harris is hilarious. The video of this cracked me up on Sportsrise this morning...
  9. There's no rules against crazy theories. As long as everybody remains civil...there's nothing wrong with discussing this.
  10. It's not a blister. They are regrowing the entire arm from scratch. That was just the egg from which the new arm will hatch.
  11. I don't think people are assuming he won't make it, if you read the posts, most are saying something along the lines of, "If he doesn't progress into a #1 or #2..." Personally I highly doubt he'll turn into a #1 - meaning he won't be catching 90+ passes for 1000+ yards. But he doesn't have to in order to still be a very big threat and worth every penny spent. I realize that they were "if" scenarios...they just all seemed to be "if"-ing the worse case scenario. I'm just suggesting the idea that he might turn out to be a pretty decent WR...he may not be a #1, but if he ends up as a #2 and his punt/kickoff returns stay at their high level...I'm perfectly ok with that. Just nitpicking the pessimism a little. :P
  12. Why are we assuming he won't be a #1 or #2 receiver? All indications from camp are that he came in knowing the playbook, and will be moved around between the receiver spots to keep the D from keying on him the same way they did last year. Given the ability that he's shown, I don't see why we need to be down on his prospects as a WR.
  13. Sure, but why would the Red Sox want to commit to Soriano's contract?

Actually I got 3-4-5 hybrids with mine. Haven't played in a few weeks unfortunately though.
  15. Castillo was aiming for an osprey.
  16. This was the right way to do it. Skip a couple days and show up...you show the Bears you're serious, but you don't miss enough camp to do a lot of damage to your growth at the new position...
  17. Strike out here. No full count plz.
  18. Does Cuban have a group or is he sole owner. I know he got 2 billion for selling broadcast.com, but is he willing to dump 50 percent of his worth into a baseball team? I honestly have no idea.
  19. Um...I think it was in an article I read a long time ago...I might have a larger version...I'll post it later tonight or tomorrow for ya... You're the first to ask btw.
  20. George Offman is reporting on the Score that Cuban's bid was the highest. That Cuban says he "won't be outbid", and that there's a school of thought that MLB will allow him to buy, because they're afraid that Cuban and the Tribune Co. would sue MLB, and that it could threaten their anti-trust exemption.
  21. Gibbons isn't the manager anymore. True...but they didn't exactly back Lilly up. I dunno...Lilly seems the type to me to hold a grudge. Maybe I'm wrong. In any case...I'd rather trade Marquis for obvious reasons. :P
  22. Dan Pompei: Trade Hester.
  23. Part of the reason for including Marquis in the deal is salary. He's owned 7 million next season still, and what...3.5 million still this season? Ted Lilly would be a much more logical choice for a salary-balancer. He's got 2/$24M left after this season, so the margin between that and what Halladay's owed is only around $6M total. Not sure if Lilly left Toronto on good terms or not. Anyway, start with Lilly and Cedeno for Halladay and Eckstein, and then start piling on the young guys. I don't think Toronto will want Lilly after he got into a screaming match with the manager...
