  1. Joe hasn't seen them play enough to know which guy has been more consistant. That's exactly the answer I'm waiting for.
  2. dez knows that he's getting older in a young man's game, he knows that the bears gave him the opportunity to start and he repaid them for that chance. he also understands that it's olsen's time and that there is still a place on the team for both of them. If the Bears are smart, they'll use a whole lot of 2 TE sets this year. The Bears 4 best receivers are probably Hester, Olsen, Clark, and Forte...
  3. I feel like a definitive answer to the ROY question is necessary, so I submitted that question to Joe Morgan's chat today. \:D/
  4. He is very, very screwed. There's not getting out of this now when the minimum is 3 1/2 years. He's pretty much guilty per se because there isn't really any question of fact here seeing as how he was obviously in possession of a firearm in light of the fact that, ya know, he shot himself. He REALLY should have taken the plea when he could....he should go back to the DA on his knees now.
  5. Ha! The Chiefs apparently took a look at David Terrell.... http://myespn.go.com/blogs/afcwest/0-3-2544/Sources--Chiefs-may-sign-Toomer.html
  6. Not a shocker or anything, but Olsen is officially the starter over Clark. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/football/bears/chi-04-haugh-on-bears-chicago-aug04,0,4679677.column
  7. Pretty sure that this is just a made up ESPN rumor. A google search found this thread (and the locked one) to the be the only relevant mentions of Jake Fox trying 2b.
  8. I loved Dusty coming out to the mound to talk to Harang last night when he had thrown something like 116 pitches, and Dusty left him in there....the next pitch Lee doubles in a run.
  9. Yeah, I knew that was the same guy, and I don't really believe that Forte is gonna be better than AP, but I do think Forte will be one of the elite backs in the league before we're all said and done. I don't know if this will be the year he emerges as such, or if it will take a year of the team getting to know Cutler first....we'll see. I definitely like Football Outsiders stats better than Joyners.
  10. He's a ballplayer, and away from home enough...I'd say that gives his wife an excuse to be a little kooky...not him.
  11. Well incompletes can be the QB's fault too though...so you're penalizing the back for something that may not have been his fault. Drops would probably be better, although that's a difficult stat to find for running backs....
  12. At rushing, yes.
  13. He just named as many big market, high spending teams as he could think of.
  14. Nope. He had at least 17 carries in every regular season game. Yards per touch Forte 4.5 AP 4.9 Carries Forte 316 Jones 34 AP 363 Taylor 101 AP was better last year, but not by an enormous margin, unless we look strictly at rush stats.
  15. That's so true. I have a Cardinal fan buddy (one that is actually reasonable knowledgable) that is convinced that Holliday is going to take less to sign with the Cards, even though he's said nothing to indicate that.
  16. Plaxico got indicted. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4374477
  17. http://fifthdown.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/08/03/the-bears-beyond-cutler/ It's also a flat out lie. If Peterson is healthy, Forte can't hold his jock. Doesn't mean Forte is bad, just that AP is that good. There was about 200 total yards seperating the two last season.
  18. Wow...this is high praise: http://fifthdown.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/08/03/the-bears-beyond-cutler/
  19. http://myespn.go.com/blogs/nfcnorth/0-13-12/How-long-will-Jackson-sit-.html
  20. I wonder how much of a conincidence it is that his former team had this kind of success against him? If he does better his next few times out, I can overlook these two games.
  21. kind of tough to surprise anybody when you're wearing the orange jersey, though. Definitely. :)
  22. Cutler lines up as WR...direct snap to Hester. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_0vNluVaYw&feature=channel_page You can hear the defense flipping out....and the crowd buzzing.
