Just listened to the Cutler interview podcast from Mully and Hanley. I love this guy. Cocky but diplomatic...smart...and best of all, good. He was talking about how excited Ron Turner is...that he's a guy that likes to go downfield, but "looking at the tape of the last few years, he was hampered by personnel." Ha...nice way to put it, Jay.

Is the Bears version of Adrian Peterson still around? Is he in the RB depth chart? I see the Trib has an article about Wolfe wanting more reps, and they mention Forte and Jones in a blog entry...will we carry 4 RB's, or just relegate Peterson to strictly ST duty?

Take a look at the standings. You should know better than to say that a team that's currently tied for first place (and two games ahead in the loss column) can't make the playoffs.He's pretty clearly a troll. Modzilla may have some lunch.. Eh...sometimes Modzilla likes to play with his food first.

Do you have anything specific that makes you think this? It sounds like something you just decided was true with nothing to back it up. Pretty much just that when the Yankees sign someone, the rumored reports from other teams aren't even close. You hear about a few teams involved, with pretty similar offers, and then the Yankess sign the player 20 million more than reports. Look at AJ this past offseason. But yeah, I might be looking to much into it. Just a gut feeling with something that makes sense in my mind. I don't remember ever seeing a number that the Braves offered to AJ, though I could have easily missed it. I admit, I didn't really follow the AJ signing that closely. -

I'll throw in my prediction of Hoffpauir going down for Geo just because Fuld is the backup CF and that will probably tip the scales in his favor. It might be the best thing for Hoffpauir right now. He's in a absolutely massive slump and from his quotes sounds like he might be pressing because of it. Go get him 2-3 weeks of at-bats at Iowa and see if he can relax and work through it with regular at-bats. I forgot about Johnson being injured. If Hoff has options, then you're probably right. It's too bad, cuz Hoff started off so well this year.

That's so true. I have a Cardinal fan buddy (one that is actually reasonable knowledgable) that is convinced that Holliday is going to take less to sign with the Cards, even though he's said nothing to indicate that. there was just like 3 calls in a row to the xm show on now to this effect. pretty delusional, very widespread here. I don't think he would stay for less, but I think we're going to see players start declining New York and Boston offers and signing closer to true market value with other clubs, unless they are grossly overpaying. I think we've already been seeing a bit of it. I can't remember the last time the Yankees signed someone to a good contract. They Yankees have grossly overpaid for a long time though....Giambi, Rodriguez, and Texiera for examples. I'm not sure that's a big change.
