  1. Got that guys? We were winning because of Koyie Hill.
  2. If he has, they should DL him for the rest of the season now. Let him heal up.
  3. Saw that this morning. Can't really argue. Yeah...no information to be able to argue with. He's about as unknown of a factor as you can be.
  4. Do. Not. Believe. They've cried wolf far too many times.
  5. Don Banks has Caleb Hanie as the worst #2 QB in the league. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writers/don_banks/08/20/backups/2.html
  6. I think all will be forgiven and forgotten if he has a good game on Saturday. If he struggles again, you're gonna see a lot of people freaking out. Chicago is kind of a "freak out" type of sports city.
  7. That's what I said. This seems like a case where the rich pro athlete sure didn't receive any breaks. Actually he did! And he freaking turned it down...that's the hilarious part. He turned down an earlier plea deal that would've been 3 months.
  8. Someone that throws deep and into coverage? Hmm, last time we had a QB who did that he was almost literally run out of town by fans. Our receivers were better back then too. Are you arguing that Rex = Cutler?
  9. Yes. He has some legal stuff going on. He's at best a 1-year solution. He would be taking time away from someone that could actually develop as a long-time future target of Cutler like Bennett, Rideau, Iglesias, Knox, or Aromashodu. Also, that would mean one of these guys would NOT make the team, along w/ Davis....and that's if the Bears keep the max 6 WRs. I'm with you on this, but isn't Harrison's legal issue a thing of the past? I thought nothing came of it. As of Aug 6th it was still ongoing....unless something has happened since that I'm not aware of. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2009/08/06/marvin-harrison-still-waiting/
  10. Cutler clarifying the Hester comments, and another tidbit I found interesting:
  11. lol...so Dungy craps all over Cutler, but now he thinks his buddy Harrison would be a great fit? Ok.
  12. Nice find...my favorite part:
  13. It doesn't matter. If they release him they don't owe him anything. He has $6M guaranteed automatically for this year and most likely the full $12M. Beyond that he gets nothing unless he's on the roster opening day next September. The cap hit for the $6 mil guaranteed will get split over the two years if I understand this salary cap stuff correctly
  14. Yeah....they only take a cap hit on the proration of the signing bonus. Only guaranteed money is a cap hit.
  15. Rosenbloom is awful. He loves the cute nicknames like the "Chicago Cutlers" or calling preseason games "fake games". And if he's being serious about the Bears going 14-2, he's certifiable.
  16. Are you surprised by this? They did all that last year when he came to NY. Kind of a big difference between NY and Minny though. And definitely a different rivalry history.
  17. The Cardinals going on a pretty significant slide is the only way we're winning this thing.
  18. Am I nuts for thinking Marshall should get a shot at closing?
  19. Boy, I was really hoping for more info out of MMQB today. I knew it was going to be Bears heavy, but nothing there was really new.
  20. Yeah...Basaenez doesn't instill much confidence, but I think if Cutler were to go down, and Hanie had to start any number of games, the Bears would look to pick up somebody off the scrap heap anyhow. I think Basaenez probably only plays if Cutler and Hanie both got injured in the same game, in which case, we're SOL anyway.
  21. How this didn't turn into a Sandberg photoshop thread, a la the Soriano thread, I'll never know.
  22. Huh...I'm surprised we're having a backup QB conversation. I thought Hanie actually looked pretty decent. In fact, I don't think Orton would've been able to make that TD pass that Hanie made while running toward the sideline.
  23. If the defense plays as well as it did last night, the Bears will deal with Cutler's picks just fine. Grossman and Orton threw their share of picks too, just without the positives we'll get from Cutler. I fully expect less picks over the years as he matures more (as a QB). Alfalava was very impressive last night. Very "Mike Brown-esque". By the way, I don't blame Cutler for trying to force things in a preseason game. On the one where he threw the pick...what is he supposed to do? Eat the ball and take a sack in a preseason game? No chance. Throw the ball and avoid getting hit...I don't want Cutler hurt in a preseason game.
