  1. What's the beef against Boise? Just rooting for the underdog and don't think Boise deserves to be ranked in the top 10. They had one good win against Oregon to start the season and haven't played a good team since. It's a tough spot for Boise though. What do they have to do to be highly ranked if they go by your criteria? What good team would want to play Boise State? Major conference teams don't gain anything from it...and they stand to potentially lose a lot. They really need to get out of that conference.

  3. I get that, but my complaint was with the media types who are absolutely apoplectic if the topic of Lovie's job security comes up. They just keep repeating winningest NFC coach since 2005 besides Coughlin. It makes no sense. He's been here 5.5 years, they have 2 playoff appearances, are 2-2 (including 2 embarrassing defeats) and haven't been there since 2006. The topic is worth discussion. Will the Bears pull the trigger? My guess is only if they completely fall apart and somehow lose 10 games. But 7-9, 8-8 should at least make them consider it. But should a media member scoff at the notion that it should be discussed? Absolutely not. No argument there.
  4. Unfortunately there's a factor you didn't mention, Jersey....money. Smith's contract runs through 2011...I think he's likely to get that time to continue to try to get the most out of that team. The Bears already got burned by having to pay Jauron to go away...I just don't think they will with Lovie too. Should Lovie's job be in danger? Yes. Will it? Unfortunately I don't think so.
  5. The way that all the talk was going, I thought Bradley would have been traded as soon as Hendry rolled out of bed this morning. Hopefully he's letting a "bidding war" of sorts develop.
  6. Well now I hate you...so there. :flame:
  7. I'm finding myself hating the Vikings more than the Packers now. Turns out I hate Favre more than either of the teams individually.
  8. We'll probably find out in a couple of weeks when we play Dallas. That'll answer a lot of questions because if we lose that game, we'll be 0-4 against teams with a winning record and 1-4 against teams that are average or better. It's a problem when we're two months into the season and we don't really know the identity of our football team besides having a real miserable offensive line and a real good quarterback. The Dallas and San Francisco games will answer a lot of questions about the Packers. Rodgers is very good. I really would like to see both GB and Chicago improve to the point where we can have some nice QB battles without them having to fight their own O-lines.
  9. I think he's a bit undersized to play o-line though.
  10. Wilcots was amazingly bad. I called my wife into the room at one point so I could bitch about him to a live person instead of to my television. Of course the play by play guy was bad too...I think at one point he made it a point to just call every Bears offensive player "Hester" whether it was true or not. Ron Turner is starting to get snippy in postgame interviews...I think he can feel that he's gonna end up being a fall guy for this team after the season, whether it's right or not. I won't be upset about it because is real bad, but it's more than just Turner.
  11. Laura Ricketts is MLB's first openly gay owner. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/11/02/laura-ricketts-is-first-o_n_342172.html
  12. Great point. That Philly D is tough.
  13. Heh...think AP will get disciplined? Think Tahi would if it was AP that was injured? :)
  14. Brad Biggs was on the radio this morning, and he was just dumbfounded at the number of times that Greg Olsen is lining up as fullback. I don't think Ron Turner knows how to use his tight ends.
  15. That's not what was being said. It's strictly a numbers analysis of possibilities...I could also win a million dollars tomorrow, but I wouldn't start begging me for a loan just yet.
  16. No chance with that O-Line. Yep...I think the D might be able to have a good game against the Vikes, but Cutler's gonna get killed.
  17. Eh...Cutler was bleeding...Rodgers isn't.... :good:
  18. Cutler was getting destroyed. He took a helmet to the chin and bit his tongue pretty severely...and then was planted a few other times...guy really looked like he'd been through a war by the end. He has to hate his line. I know I do. You gotta think the O-line will be Angelo's priority going forward...you can't have your franchise QB, the one you just gave an extension to, getting killed on a regular basis back there. Not to mention Forte not being able to to run for a couple of yards for a TD in the red zone most of the time, because the line keeps getting pushed back rather than get an inch of penetration. The problem is how do they upgrade it? Draft? You might be able to get a starter in the 3rd round but I doubt it. Free agency? If I recall correctly, the free agent pool of offensive lineman this offseason is pretty poor. Well I definitely don't think we'll be trading picks for em...so yeah...it's gonna be tough, but I still think it's gonna be a priority.

  20. Orlando Pace is toast. He can't play anymore. I'd love to see what this team could do with a legitimate O-line.
  21. I'm hoping that they are out to prove something this week.
  22. Sullivan also shoots down the Bradley/Wells rumors. http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2009/10/cubs-not-interested-in-wells-for-bradley-swap-with-jays.html
  23. I have power I was unaware of.
  24. Would they have the slightest idea what questions to ask in a sabr conversation? Bernstein has some familiarity with it. He doesn't delve too deeply into it on the radio, because it's probably not much of a ratings draw, but he's mentioned VORP and Win Shares in the past for sure. Anyone know what time the interview is at? I'm hoping after 3:30 so I can hear it. Can some recap it here?
