  1. He's very quick to point out Bear weaknesses, but then when someone calls him on it he gets really defensive. I hate that the other guy (was that Zaidman) basically serves as his brown nose, agreeing with everything he says. It's a really bad segment/show. I like Zaidman when he does a little 10 min Bears report during one of the other Score shows...he's good in that role. But he's a terrible host.
  2. Hub Arkush is still bitter towards the Bears. His praises for them are usually through gritted teeth when they do happen. I ignore a lot of Bears/NFL analysts, and Hub Arkush is at the top of that list.
  3. I have mixed feelings about it, but somehow I have the feeling that this is gonna happen. I know the rumor is a media creation, but Angelo did have an interest in Burress. And although our receivers have been good, Cutler doesn't have that big target right now. I'm not counting on it by any means, but I just have a gut feeling.
  4. Olin Kreutz has been doing that for a few years on short snaps.
  5. Yeah for real. NFL needs to do something so that the NFC North teams play basically the same teams. Fair point with you guys playing the Lions, but the schedule isn't exactly the same. We get Atlanta and Philly, while you get TB and Dallas. That definitely favors GB, imo. Meanwhile the Vikings get to have their last game of the year against a Giants team that will have probably locked up the division a month earlier, and Carolina. So I think they have it the best of all. But yeah...that's just the way it goes...and I'm not worried since the Packers suck. ;)
  6. Oops. He forgot part of the hypothetical. As part of getting this GM job, you now look exactly like Jim Hendry.
  7. Yep...only option for me at work. And the IE7 rollout is not going well.
  8. So we should expect that you won't get angry when Aaron Miles bobbles a grounder, because players are going to make errors, and we should just get over it, right?
  9. This. Still happening, though until I get home and try it, I'm blaming my proxy here at work.
  10. preemptive ban for a known troublemaker. Fair decision.
  11. PFT has the Bears #6. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2009/10/13/week-five-power-rankings/
  12. That's not how bankruptcy works. Even if they could, they wouldn't want to do that. What players would want to come to the Cubs after they pulled something like that?
  13. I know there's a health distrust of media analysis, but Mike Mulligan was saying on the radio this morning that Benson was just not committed to football when he was on the Bears. He thought he should be (and was) handed the starting RB job over Jones. That he didn't commit himself to the game. I think his arrest, release, and nearly falling out of the league really woke him up to work hard at being a good RB, instead of just expecting it to happen. Also there's a lot less expectations of him in Cincy than there was in Chicago. Overall it's just a good situation for him. All that said, Turner's a bad OC. The success they are having right now is almost entirely due to Cutler and other offensive personnel (Forte, Knox) being very good players and making plays happen. I'm scared we're stuck with Turner as long as Lovie is here, and I'm scared he's here for a long time. The Bears are still a good football team with them, but I think with a better coaching staff, they could be a great team. But then I'm the optimist opposite to UMfan's pessimism :) Oh, and Orton I think reflects much worse on Turner than Benson does. Even though I still think Orton is just an average QB, he's being put in the right position to succeed. The Broncos are much, much better than I expected.
  14. Not able to reach the site right now.
  15. Please beat Minnesota when you guys play them. Thanks.
  16. So much for this theory. Although STL did move the ball against Minny.
  17. Can't just blame the secondary, when Lovie likes to blitz in these situations nearly every time.
  18. I hope so, but I don't see it happening. They're a pretty damn good football team. Not as much as they're being built up to be.
  19. I'm fully expecting the Bears-Minny game on Nov 29th to get moved at some point.
  20. The Vikings are a mirage to me. The Lions, the Browns, a new Green Bay defense with an awful O-line, and a miracle lucky play against the 49ers. I haven't seen a win that impresses me yet. And maybe they think the same about us...that we've gotten lucky with some missed field goals, and that's fine. Even if you are impressed with them though, I don't see how they'd be so hard to catch...two of our final six games are against them. Plus they'll be playing a Cincy team that could possibly be making a playoff push, and the Giants the final week while we have the Lions. (Though the Giants might not care about that one.) Anyway, I just think it's too early in the season for must wins or worrying about playing catchup when we're 1 game back in week 4.
  21. In fact, I'm kinda wondering if the STL game might be a trap game for Minny. A last second win, a game against GB with Favre at QB, and then STL? That's a big drop in emotion, and they play Baltimore next week...so they could look past STL. I'm not brave enough to pick them in my leagues, but I wouldn't be surprised if things went that way.
  22. That's the worst possible interpretation of things to come. I don't think it's hard to envision a scenario where the Bears go 4-0 in their next 4, and the Vikings lose to both Pittsburgh and Baltimore. That's just not that far out to me.
  23. http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/sports/columnists.nsf/berniemiklasz/story/8734E53B994140B98625764A0012F87B?OpenDocument
  24. The Vikings aren't going to be THAT good. They'll lose some games to teams they shouldn't.
