  1. When will the Lions stop getting the Thanksgiving game every year? Why should we have to watch bad football every Thanksgiving? They play two games on Thanksgiving...let the 4 teams that got first week playoff byes the previous season have these games. You still might get crappy games because teams fall and rise so fast in the NFL, but I think you'd stand a better chance than praying the Lions finally get it figured out. EDIT: Oh...there's three games. I don't know how you determine the third game, but still...
  2. Cutler missed throws last night, but it's Turner that's gonna pay the price after the season. They can't fire Cutler.
  3. Um...I don't think he has been. He should be. Especially if they're freaking interviewing his replacements....
  4. Um...I don't think he has been.
  5. That sucks, but I don't know who that is. Me either, but I'm not a soccer fan...just saw it on HuffPo and thought he must be someone of reasonable prominence to get a headline.
  6. From what I understand he's not having all that great a year though. Admittedly, I prefer knitting to watching the Chiefs play football. Yeah...it's the first I've really heard his name mentioned this year. It's just in vogue to lament the players we've let go..
  7. Mike Brown AFC defensive player of the week. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2009/11/18/mike-brown-named-afc-defensive-player-of-the-week/ Watch that guy be healthy for a full season this year. *sigh*
  8. http://www.babble.com/CS/blogs/famecrawler/2008/09/16-22/perry-farrell-gavin-degraw-travis-barker-dj-am-plane-crash.jpg So it's your belief that Elmer Fudd was involved in this decision?
  9. He barely mentioned Larry...I wonder if he wasn't a fan?
  10. This has previously been a topic of discussion: viewtopic.php?f=21&t=45209 Basically if the link is in a tag, it should pop into a new window. If it's not...like the one I just put above, it will stay in the current window.
  11. Larry Johnson on his way to Cincinnati and is expected to sign with the Bengals.
  12. I was about to post the same.
  13. I didn't post it so much for the missed call as for letting you guys know there will likely be a major fine coming and possible suspension. Who knows what will happen....I mean apparently jokingly offering a dollar bill to an official is a greater offense than punching a guy in the head if you go by the fines.
  14. Well the officials missed the PI call on one of Cutlers picks too, so it's not like they were eagle eyes out there.
  15. Lovie did not build the Bears from scratch. By the time he was brought on in 2004, Urlacher, Brown, Brown, Briggs and Tillman were all on the team. The only core piece brought in under Lovie was Tommie Harris, and he's a basket case who cannot be trusted. You can give him credit for putting it together, but the Bears had the makings of a dominant defense before Lovie was brought in. Yep...and before that it was as recently as 2002 that we had Washington and Traylor in the middle, and everyone was talking about was that Bears D as good as the 85 Bears as we made a playoff run (and promptly got squished by Philly). Everytime the D is good, that comparison happens and I hate it. EDIT: Omg...Olin was on the 2001 team? He's been with the Bears since 98? I didn't realize...wow. His best years are definitely in the rear view.
  16. If the Bears trade Tommie Harris for picks in the offseason, what do you think they can get for him? Or can they trade him at his salary?
  17. Who knows what might have been different if Urlacher and Pisa didn't get lost for the year basically in the first half of the first game of the season. I don't think the Vikings are as good as advertised (but better than the Bears). They should have lost 2 of the games they won, and could easily be 5-3 instead of 7-1. I know, should have but they didn't means nothing, but it leads me to believe the Vikings aren't as good as their record. I could easily see the Bears and Vikings tied 5-3 in the division if a few things broke the other way. The talent gap isn't as big as the records indicate IMO. It's the NFL. Most games are close and could go either way. Unless you don't show up or are playing a bottom feeder, each team is "in" the vast majority of games. You're also ignoring that they very easily could have won the game they lost if not for some bad breaks at the end. Makes the Bengals and Cardinals games stand out.
  18. Yeah. Now go away. Why would you defend him? Because he has talent, talent he throws away consistently? you're not acting very Jesus-y tonight Jesus HATES bad lines and quarterbacking. Forum trolling is a-ok though.
  19. Pretty much. He had Olsen open the second to last play and overthrew him. The game should have been over with a Bears win. You're reaching, Troll. Olsen wasn't open. A good throw there wins the game. He was open enough. Franchise QBs make that play. I am not a troll and you know it. Sometimes the truth hurts Like Orton? He'd have thrown it off someone's head for the TD, amirite?
  20. I'd love Turner to start calling some WR routes where they don't come to a complete stop to catch the ball. There's never any momentum for our receivers because they're always sitting somewhere waiting for the ball. Makes the passes awfully easy to read.
  21. Nope. But not all of those 17 are on him. Hell he had two tonight...one where Hester fell, and the other non-interference call that are easy to explain away. The focus goes to him because the numbers are on him, but if a receiver screws up, he doesn't get faulted in his stats.
  22. It's our MO for sustaining drives.
