  1. You must have watched a different game 1 third period than I did. Not to mention we're a couple of post dingers away from having a bigger lead in game 3.
  2. i never heard a whistle but it did get extremely loud after the puck rolled along the line. that's where i'm sure the "intent to blow" rule comes into play. Yeah...and it wasn't just extremely loud...the goal horn blew. I'm sure the intent to blow rule was what was going on there.
  3. My thoughts: -They may have needed this loss. Sometimes you start to feel bulletproof during a long win streak. This loss still has Philly in a precarious position (going down 3-1 is almost as bad as 3-0), and maybe can get the Hawks to start playing with some more urgency. - I felt like the Hawks lacked urgency all night long. It was like they were waiting for things to happen instead of making them happen. - There was some really sloppy passing going on. Maybe it was Philly's forecheck that was making it look that way, but they had several times where Philly had nothing to do with it...it was just a pass in front or behind each other that killed all the momentum of the rush. - At least two of Philly's goals never touched the back of the net. They got pretty damn lucky on a couple of those goals. Anyway, it sucks to lose (forgot what that was like), but I'm not really worried yet. I think we win on Friday night. Niemi is due for another "stand on his head" performance, and Kane is starting to break through.
  4. People older than 10 years old play kickball?
  5. Oh yeah? I heard he said the Cavs have an edge...what got you excited?
  6. I think the Hawks win tonight. They really have done a good job stepping on the throat of the other team and just preventing hope of winning. That said, I'd rather lose tonight than win tonight and lose game 4. I don't want to give Philly fans any ideas that they can repeat the comeback.
  7. I'm a #1. I knew how the Hawks were generally doing, and had caught a couple games during the year, but it wasn't until about game 3 of the Preds series that I really started watching with any dedication. Wishing I'd been more of a fan all year now.
  8. Ladd is on the ice for morning skate. But he skated in a line with Colin Fraser and Bryan Bickell...so I'm gonna go ahead and say he's unlikely to play.
  9. JVR and Parent out again tonight for the Flyers. Which means Carcillo will still be around.
  10. Hmmm...they gonna start trying to run the goalie?
  11. Good catch from Pierre Lebrun on ESPN... http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/playoffs/2010/columns/story?columnist=lebrun_pierre&id=5240542 Not that any of them are wrong...just funny how similar the assessments are.

  13. Maybe that first pic of Dontrelle a little, but definitely not in the next two. He has a baby face...Omar decidedly does not.
  14. I think we can win the Stanley Cup NEXT YEAR TOO!!
  15. Game 2 decibel readings. http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=530609 It got 1db higher than Game 1, and again, that was during the anthem.
  16. Apparently the ratings were great for this game. If anyone wants to see the details... http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/puck_daddy/post/Game-2-ratings-Hockey-evidently-popular-in-Chic?urn=nhl,244929#remaining-content
  17. Bad blood with Eager being a former Flyer?
  18. Wow...not to jinx it...and I'm certainly not implying that it's inevitable....but it's possible last night was the last home game of the year.
  19. They've played two different style games so far in this series. Game 1 was a run and gun game, and Game 2 was a physical, defensive game. The Hawks won them both, but I think that second style is a much harder game for the Hawks to win at. I think by the third period last night, we had some tired, beat up guys out there. They didn't have the same speed or energy in that period. All I want out of the next two games is a split. Come home 3-1 and finish this thing off.
  20. They ended up giving Buff an assist last night for the first point from that line.
  21. i'm about 99.999999% sure that that was from a flyers fan either making things up, or hearing what he wanted to hear. melrose would never say that. he's been on the hawks bandwagon the entire season. i've heard him say on several occasions during this season that the hawks are the best team in the nhl. It sounded pretty out there, even for Melrose. BTW, with the Toews line doing nothing for 2 games in the SCF now, is Niemi the leading contender for the Conn Smythe at this point?
  22. Someone on the Flyers board said that Melrose said the Hawks are the worst team to ever be up 2-0 in the SCF....did he actually spew forth those words? I think the Blackhawks were exhausted in that 3rd period. They were slow and couldn't keep up the Flyers pace at all. Niemi stole this game.
