  1. Love the Meriweather pickup. Since he's agreed to terms and hasn't "signed" yet, no official corresponding move yet. Steltz is injured...wonder if they might IR him or Chris Conte? Practice squad: Kris Adams, Levi Horn, Ricky Henry, Andre Smith, Jordan Miller, Pat Trahan, Anthony Walters. Chester Taylor to Arizona. Marcus Harrison to the Panthers.
  2. Brian Waters to sign with NE. Another available O-lineman gone.
  3. Assuming Boise makes it past Air Force, San Diego State, and TCU Of course, but Boise State can't do it on their own. They have to have help.
  4. Boise State beating up Georgia. Now just as long as Georgia doesn't go out and lose to some scrub team like Va Tech did last year....
  5. They've beat up Georgia. They've had what...3 significant injuries?
  6. Yep. He is. For the moment, anyhow.
  7. Texans released Brad Maynard.
  8. Bears have one more spot to clear. And the word is that it might be LB JT Thomas going on IR.
  9. Bears cut OL Levi Horn. Possible practice squad.
  10. Bears waive: RB Robert Hughes TE Andre Smith DT Jordan Miller WR Kris Adams All four are likely practice squad folks, per Brad Biggs.
  11. Bears cut TE Desmond Clark
  12. Oh come on Utah St!
  13. Colts release Tommie Harris. :(
  14. Bears release: DT Marcus Harrison RB Chester Taylor LB Patrick Trahan
  15. And it's not like they aren't gonna run back kickoffs. I mean, if they kick it through the endzone, sure...but I think they'll run them out of the endzone when possible.
  16. Much discussion in the preseason game 4 thread.
  17. Steelers were 6-2 in games decided by a touchdown or less last year. I wonder if that will be mentioned? the Steelers also had a pt differential of +143 vs. +58 for the Bears, which better allows them to escape that criticism How so? The author flat out said that games decided by a touchdown or less are not a product of talent. There was no equivocation. So either the Steelers were lucky, or the author's premise is wrong.
  18. The secondary for the Bears better be strong. Ryan is gonna throw until his shoulder snaps.
  19. I don't disagree with anything you're saying. But I think talent is easily the most quantifyable part of the equation. Effort and injuries are really just blind guesses at this point. Everybody is obviously welcome to their opinion on those.
  20. Step-back talent-wise was the comment, they didn't take a step back talent-wise. They stayed the same. The fact that they may have won more than they should have last year does not support the notion that they took a step back talent-wise. I'd argue that they actually did take a step forward, talent wise, though a small one. The O-line will be better, simply because it can't be worse. The running game looks better, and that was a strength already.
  21. Steelers were 6-2 in games decided by a touchdown or less last year. I wonder if that will be mentioned?
  22. Shaub at home vs Indy vs Cutler at home vs ATL Was gonna go with Shaub, but yahoo has Cutler projected with more points, and even though I know those projections suck, it put doubt in my head.
  23. Bears cut: wide receiver Onrea Jones guard John Asiata linebacker Deron Minor cornerback Ryan Jones cornerback Antareis Bryan wide receiver Jimmy Young FB Eddie Williams center Alex Linnenkohl punter Spencer Lanning linebacker Chris Johnson tackle Josh Davis linebacker Tressor Baptiste
  24. Maybe not Garza alone, but there's a number of other guys (Garza included) that will want to be taken care of. Part of the reason the Bears had left that much extra room on the cap was to accomodate those extensions. Giving Briggs extra money was likely not part of that planning.
  25. Honestly, I have no idea. I don't know enough about Chris Spencer to know whether he's an upgrade/downgrade. It might be that he's the way the Bears wanna go. They do already have him signed.
