  1. I'd love to see Boise State end up in an automatic bid conference, but I have no faith that that will actually occur.
  2. Do you have a personal stake in that site? Or you just really like it?
  3. Buffone is horrible. I will say that Cutler overthrew a number of receivers, and that annoyed me, but there was so much more to take away from that game... Isn't Buffone strongly backing Cutler there? Wow...talk about misreading. You're right...I skimmed it and somehow took something completely different out of it. Ignore my dumb ass.

  5. Carimi to have an MRI today. He was wearing a brace, but apparently saying he would be ok.
  6. So...convenience is a problem?
  7. I follow the same philosophy with all Chicago sports game threads. Only read them when they're winning. If things turn for the worse, it's time to bail.
  8. Best moment from the game yesterday.... http://www.chicagotribune.com/media/photo/2011-09/64840439.jpg
  9. Conference re-alignment "choose your own adventure". http://dev.chuckoliver.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Conference-Realignment-CYOA3.html#
  10. Chris Harris didn't practice, and is doubtful for Sunday. You guys ready for Meriweather and Wright for your safeties? I guess it's a good thing we grabbed Meriweather. Could've been real bad.
  11. Bears got 23 points offensively against Atlanta, and I don't see how we score fewer against the Saints. I think NO is gonna blitz a ton, and Cutler is gonna make a lot of short passes to Forte and Davis. I keep hearing about how big a home field advantage it's gonna be for the Saints in the dome, but I think the Bears are gonna play better in a dome than they do at Soldier. Bears 27, Saints 16 wait wait, the Saints put up 34 points (could have easily been 40+ if not for some stupid mistakes) in an extremely hostile environment against arguably the top defense in the NFL, and they're only going to get 16 points AT HOME?? I'm extremely confident that the Saints won't score as much against the Bears as they did against Green Bay. I think they'll get a offensive TD. That's more than the Falcons got. I'm giving the Saints respect!!! :)

  13. Fills time between games. Something to talk about. What, I should go talk about the Cubs? Pass.
  14. Only person I've seen pick the Bears is Florio so far, so he's not alone this week. And no matter what happens this week, you know damn well everybody is gonna pick GB next week.
  15. I really wonder how long it would take a coach to adjust if a small conference team randomly, without warning, started playing that way. I gotta think it would have tremendous success for at least a quarter. Not only is it something the players have never seen before but the coach has never probably thought about stopping a defense like that. I gotta think there is some way to get a quick screen or slant to a receiver. And once you manage to get the ball to the receiver, its likely 6. Eventually there would be a fool proof adjustment and it would stop working. Well you definitely couldn't rush 11 on every play. The whole idea is having a whole playbook full of gadget, weird plays.
  16. ROFL...I'd really like to see this. I'd love to watch this type of football happen in big time college football or the pros. Not for my team but for someone. Maybe some team that's out of it could try it in like the last quarter of a meaningless last game of the season...lol.
  17. Not NFL related, but this still seems like the best place for this. I think we've had articles posted about this coach on here before...the guy that doesn't believe in punting. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/writers/scorecasting/09/15/kelley.pulaski/?xid=cnnbin ROFL...I'd really like to see this.
  18. And now they say Barber is out again for Sunday.
  19. Marion Barber didn't practice today. Calf still bothering him.
  20. Dunno if OMC will post it himself, but here's his "gif of the week" from the Saints board...
  21. Picks starting to roll in. PFT: Florio takes the Bears, Rosenthal takes the Saints: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/09/15/pfts-week-two-picks-2/ CBSSports: They're not changing their tune. They all took the Falcons last week, and all take the Saints this week: http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/features/writers/expert/picks
  22. I don't think there's a chance that Urlacher will be an analyst. I could see him in coaching, though. Wasn't real clear the way he wrote it, but he meant Lewis would be an analyst. Oh, yeah I see that now.

  24. Talking about the Jets at the beginning of the podcast. "You can ride luck for 3-4 months, but not a whole season." Tell me more!
