  1. I really wish they'd just come out and say whether or not Foster is gonna play. If I gotta play Felix Jones instead, I'd like to mentally prepare myself for that.
  2. Yeah yeah. They've hated the Bears offseason too. I love that they give that grade one Webb, without addressing improvement over the year. Think a few of those early games might skew the stats a bit?
  3. It's not a matter of should or should not. It's stupid to pay $20 for a month of content on the daily herald website. It costs money to produce ESPN.com's content but they don't charge to see the majority of it. It costs money to produce a hell of a lot of things that don't cost the consumer a nickel to view. ESPN.com's content is run at a loss in order to advance the overall brand. http://ryanspoon.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/espn-valentines-day.jpg I bet JC Penney isn't paying them a dime!
  4. EDIT; Good lord...he has the NFC north as: Green Bay 12-4 Minnesota 9-7 Chicago 7-9 Detroit 6-10 :stickman:
  5. Home Field in the NFC could be decided by Oct 9th. Packers will have played the Saints, Bears and Falcons. Falcons would have played the Bears, Eagles, Bucs (don't count them out), and Packers. Bears will have played Falcons, Saints, Packers. Saints will have played Packers and Bears. Eagles will have played Falcons and Bucs. Well that's not true. Some tiebreakers could be decided by then. But home field in the NFC? Come on. Good teams will lose to bad teams as the season goes on, and it'll affect playoff seeding. Packers and Bears both lost to the Redskins last year.
  6. Uhhh...neither defense looked like the best in the NFC, that's for sure.
  7. There's no reason they should be bad. I fear that they aren't bad, which means the Packers are really just that damn good. Packers are sure clicking tonight but you can't judge a Saints D by their performance against a top offense that has been on top of their game. Oh, and the Bears defense has the Packers number so I wouldn't be too concerned about slowing them down. Really? Seeing this shouldn't give a Bear fan pause at all? Doesn't give me any more pause than last year.
  8. Well I figured one of the Bears first 3 opponents was a mirage. Looks like it might be the Saints. /overreaction to one half of football
  9. Why do I hear Spanish announcers faintly in the background?
  10. Not going on IR.
  11. Some quick math has Cowboys at 234 pts over their last 8, and Packers at 267. Possible I'm wrong somewhere though, I did it in a hurry.
  12. who did they predict for the WC? Sorry I never answered this. Rosenthal has the Falcons and Cowboys. Florio has Saints and Eagles (with the Cowboys winning the division). Did the Cowboys add anyone to a 6 win team? How am I missing the sudden rise to playoff-caliber status? Romo being healthy is enough? More PFT staff picks.... http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/09/07/the-pft-postseason-picks/ Of the 5 that pick, 4 picked the Cowboys in the playoffs, and the one that didn't had the Lions. The Cowboys went 3-8 in games decided by 7 points or less last season. Add in the return of Romo and the fact they were a playoff team the year before and you could see why they are a popular pick to rebound. Also they were 5-3 after the coaching change last year. They were great in late season games in a lost season when there's zero pressure.
  13. Another reason to keep 4 RBs. If Bell stays on special teams, the Bears are screwed at RB. Marion Barber is never healthy. Kind of sucks that we are in the position where Bell is taking potentially important carries for us. I understand that Bell is somewhat valuable on ST, and Barber looked much better running the ball than Taylor in the preseason, but I cant really be surprised that we have issues already We all wanted Taylor gone. We've had our backup RB's on special teams before. Weren't Adrian Petersen and Garrett Wolfe doing a lot of ST duties when they were backing up Forte? EDIT: I didn't realize till I looked him up just now, that Adrian Petersen never played again after the Bears released him.
  14. ESPN keeps MNF through 2021.
  15. ESPN Picks for week 1: http://espn.go.com/nfl/picks Only 2 have the Bears winning. Only 2 have the Bucs beating the Lions in TB.

  17. Jim Cornelison will sing the anthem on Sunday.
  18. Yeah...sounds like the only one for week 1.
  19. Haha...I don't know how I missed that.
  20. Nobody at National Football Post, including Bears beat reporter Brad Biggs, has the Bears in the playoffs this year... http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/2011-NFP-Super-Bowl-Predictions.html
  21. Directv has a free preview of Sunday Ticket + Red Zone this weekend. FYI.
  22. The more I hear about the Eagles, the more I can't wait to play them. I really think that team has more flaws than people think. They might end up with a worse O-line than the Bears this year.
  23. Peyton Manning officially out for Week 1.
