  1. How in the world can you possibly say what style of offense the Bears will play in the future? Especially if Jay isn't here after next season. There's been a lot of talk radio wishful thinking that the new coach will try to get a new QB in here, but I seriously doubt that happens.
  2. It's on the cover of the NY Daily News with the headline "Kinky Inky" and "Marked for Life".
  3. No great place to put this, so I'll put it here. http://assets.nydailynews.com/polopoly_fs/1.1232930.1357286618!/img/httpImage/image.jpg_gen/derivatives/landscape_635/rex-ryan-jets-tattoo-beach.jpg That is a pic of a shirtless Rex Ryan with a tattoo of his wife wearing nothing but a Mark Sanchez jersey.
  4. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/01/04/oregon-one-point-safety-kansas-state-fiesta_n_2406675.html There's a clip of an old Texas/Texas A&M game with one and Brad Nessler is baffled by it. It's the game he referred to during this one.

  8. Arians interview scheduled for sometime next week per Dan Pompei.
  9. GB reporter talking about Clements on ESPN 1000 now. Says Clements is very cerebral and even keeled. Saying that he'd help Jay immensely, and talking about his success with developing QB's. He's downplaying the "playcalling" aspect of it, saying he doesn't think that it's really much of a factor. Did say that Clements isn't a big fan of dealing with the media, and that could hurt his chances with the Bears based on Emery's list of requirements.

  11. John Clayton just said on the radio that Clements doesn't call the offensive plays, that McCarthy does? That makes me a little less interested.
  12. I'm highly valuing that flexibility. We've had such rigid, unimaginative coaches in the past, imo, and that ability to make the most out of what you have is important to me. I love what Clements has done, but also, he has a lot of talent, so I have questions about what he'd do to make this offense work. But I do like him as well, and would be thrilled if he was hired. fair enough, but i don't trust Denver without Manning. Another thing, McCoy was around when Orton was having his best seasons for Denver as well.
  13. McCoy interview is officially set for Sunday.

  15. McCoy, then Clements, not sure who I like after that to be honest.
  16. Zach Zaidman ‏@ZachZaidman Phil Emery to @WBBMNewsradio when asked directly about Tom Clements: "We have to wait that out a little bit." Hope the Vikings make that wait a lot shorter.
  17. I was listening this morning too. I got the feeling that if Myers was asked to choose between Holmgren and one of the up-and-comers like McCoy or Clements, he would have went with an up-and-comer. I agree with him that I would prefer Holmgren over John Gruden though. Personally, I worry that Holmgren cannot keep up with a head coaching gig any more. I would pass. I am hoping to find a coach we can keep for a long time. At 64, I'd worry that Holmgren would be a short term fix. If you hire him, you're almost hoping that he's a guy to develop a head coach for you down the road while righting the ship in the short term. You could also argue that this a fairly old team and, with such a short window, you can't be worrying too much about whether a guy will still be here 5 years down the line. That'd be a bad argument. Emery isn't building just for the quick win. He's building for "sustained success". He said that numerous times in his press conference.
  18. Lovie to interview with the Bills this weekend.
  19. Full list of Bears opponents for 2013: Home: Detroit Lions Green Bay Packers Minnesota Vikings Dallas Cowboys New York Giants New Orleans Saints Baltimore Ravens Cincinnati Bengals Away: Detroit Lions Green Bay Packers Minnesota Vikings Philadelphia Eagles Washington Redskins St. Louis Rams Cleveland Browns Pittsburgh Steelers Looks like most of the tough non-division games will be at home. Redskins appear to be the toughest non-division road game.
  20. @AdamSchefter Andy Reid did not fly to Arizona last night as scheduled.
  21. Steve Rosenbloom wrote an article (behind the paywall) about how the Bears should get Mike Holmgren. Then this morning, Gary Myers from the NY Daily News was on Mully and Hanley, and he said he'd be much more interested in Holmgren than Gruden. Mully agreed. What's the level of interest in Holmgren? Personally, I'm still anti re-tread coaches.
  22. Yeah, I'm focused on those two as well. I think I'd actually prefer McCoy.
  23. Chip Kelly has interviews scheduled with Browns, Bills and Eagles.
  24. So, worst case scenario is to interview him, we may have to wait out Green Bay's playoff run, right? If that IS the case, would we be willing to do that? i hope so. i don't see the urgency, really. Emery acknowledged they may have to wait to interview some because of the playoffs, but he said in an ideal world, he'd like to have a coach for the "all star games". The East-West game is on the 19th. The Senior bowl is the 26th. More info on the rules about interviewing assistants in the playoffs... So, we should be able to interview Clements on the 12-13th even if they win their game against the Vikes if I'm reading that correctly?
