    How has he managed to keep an NFL job the last 4 years? Actually I think hes a good coach who has had horrendous talent as an OC here and in baltimore. Those Pitt teams had solid offenses with Palko and then Mccoy/Stephens-Howling/Graham. I dont think Matt Cavanaugh is gonna hurt us. Well yeah, he's a QB coach. I don't think QB coach has ever hurt a team.

    Matt Cavanaugh announced as QB coach, and Skip Peete as RB coach. Cavanaugh has been QB coach for the Jets since 2009. Start the Tebow speculation?

    I dont understand why you cant overhaul the offensive staff while leaving Lovie, Taub, and D coaches (likely retaining Hoke as the DB coach). Its almost impossible for me to believe that Trestman wouldnt accept the OC ("HC of the Offense") job here in chicago. We have a mature team, so an overhaul with all new coaches (whom are all recieving huge promotions from all their prior jobs) is incredibly stupid. We are paying Lovie $5mln. Why not let him coach out the contract with trestman as OC and reevaluate after the season. We won 10 games last year and likely could have won 11-12 had Cutler stayed healthy or Hester not dropping that one pass. A few upgrades offensively and this was a contending team with the current staff in place. So you're confused why they wouldn't let Lovie have a 5th offensive coordinator? The team was too comfortable with Lovie. It was time for some "uncomfortableness" on this team. I don't know if Trestman will be the right choice. But I have no doubt that parting ways with Lovie was the right choice.

    Nobody is satisfied that the defensive staff left, but that wasn't a Bears choice, that was the coaches begging out because of loyalty to Lovie. I have to wonder why anybody isn't satisfied that we blew up the offensive staff. It was the Bears choice to fire Lovie and then hire a CFL coach who many NFL coaches likely view as unqualified to get the job. That was a good way of forcing your defensive staff's hands. You can't just make a "bold" choice without thinking about the ramifications. Well, there's some assumption there, but I'll agree with your conclusion that you have to think about ramifications, but ultimately, the overhaul of the offense was the priority here.

    If Garza is willing to sign something like Edwin did it does not bode well for his confidence regarding his health. Yeah, you can't sign him to an extension until he shows he's healthy. But if he wants to sign something like 4/60 in May after proving his health, the Cubs should do that. Is May long enough to show he's healthy?

He just created it yesterday. Yeah, I know. I saw it then, and wasn't sure it was him. Do any other NFL head coaches have twitter accounts? I dunno, seems like a bad idea.
