  1. I'm normally an optimistic person, so I hate that my brain was already going this way too.
  2. Not sure if this was mentioned here...
  3. Now he's promoted to the active roster, and Collins is on IR.
  4. Bernstein says that the Cubs are disappointed, they thought they had the better job, and that Girardi knew they were offering more money. That Girardi knew what the Cubs were offering, but couldn't get past the family issues and that's why he's staying in NY.
  5. Can they even admit they were interested, since he was always under contract?

  7. Joel Sherman on twitter says that Girardi signed 4 year extension with Yankees. EDIT: Yankees PR confirms.

  9. Well if this doesn't convince Girardi to manage, I don't know what will!

  12. I have the opposite interpretation. He is currently under contract, but the longer he takes to accept the extension, the less likely he is to accept it. He can't just say, no, then sign with the Cubs. He's under contract. He's waiting for a reason. I just think he wants his cake and eat it too. I think he wants to be able to equally weight two offers, and so he's trying to see how long he can drag it out to get that accomplished.
  13. Girardi needs to [expletive] or get off the pot.
  14. I can see that, which is fine, usually means the right/smart decision was made. I'm not completely convinced history bears that out. Yeah, it really depends on the situation.
  15. So this happened.... Video link here: http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nhl-puck-daddy/watch-jonathan-quick-gaffe-lead-ryan-mcdonagh-goal-050349785--nhl.html
  16. Yeah it's looking like SF/Seattle loser and then whoever finishes better between the Lions and Bears with the Lions currently holding the tiebreaker. You're conceding to GB already? Smh. Wins at home against the Redskins and a Calvin-less Lions have not rendered me afraid of them... yet. Of course if we draw off the past couple years, it's a bit different feeling. That said, we ARE winning one of our two games with them this year. It's hard not to feel that way when they've beaten us what 7 times in a row? Brees had never won in Soldier Field.

  18. If the Cubs get Acta, this board will be thrilled, and the general public will be very "Cubs didn't get their man again".
  19. You're not just being meatballish here.
  20. The biggest defensive issue for me continues to be lack of pressure. The Bears are still capable of getting turnovers, but against good teams, if we don't get pressure against the QB, the chances of getting those turnovers are going to be greatly diminished. We need to force the QB to make mistakes, and too many QB's this season have been able to sit back and be comfortable in the pocket. Our safeties didn't play well yesterday, but again, pressure on the QB helps them out.
  21. They outgained the Saints by over 100 yards. Had only one turnover, had a 200 yard receiver, and had a QB with a 128.1 rating. (Though admittedly QBR tells a different story on Jay.) You stat nerds are cute. http://i.imgur.com/HwzXdyc.gif

  23. And what [expletive] good did that do us? Again, decide what point you want to argue. We aren't talking about wins and losses. We're talking about the offense you found worthy to mock. My point is I want to [expletive] win games. I thought that was the point of playing them. No, that wasn't your point. Your point was to crap on the "CFL coach's offense...lol".
