    This seems odd... Emery seems like a standup guy who was embarrassed by what became of his team and I would guess the Bears trust him to not be a dick in this press conference. Also, Emery enjoys press conferences. Trestman seemed to really dislike it. Emery will probably talk for an hour.

    Nothing about Rex makes me think the Bears will fix their offense/QB issues the next 10 years. I think he could do enough with the defense to minimize those flaws. He'd need to have a competent OC, undoubtedly. Do you not remember what the problem was during the Lovie era? Being a defensive centric team sucks and is dumb. I don't think we have the QB to be successful another way.

    Great. So would I. If the Bears were gonna go the "comedy hire" route, that'd be the top choice.

    The more I read and hear today, the more I'm starting to warm to the idea of Rex Ryan as HC.

    Lol they just said on the score that Ballard worked with the Bears for 12 years with Angelo and spent time under Emery in KC. no thanks. He's pretty well regarded though, FWIW. Yeah, wasn't just the score that said it. It's been the rumor all over twitter since earlier yesterday.

    If they go the "keep Cutler" way, I think we need to focus on the defense. I think that's the best way to cover up Cutler's flaws. I was all for putting the money into the offense, but I don't think Cutler can be that guy.
