  1. @RapSheet Big domino in the coaching world in action today: #Broncos OC Adam Gase. #Bears and #49ers very interested, with QB development in focus.
  2. And Rex is gonna go with Roman instead of Trestman as OC.
  3. Bills to hire Rex Ryan as head coach.
  4. As much of a fan of baseball as I am, the HoF means almost nothing to be me. I have zero interest in ever visiting. It's a complete failure in the only task it has, naming/honoring the best baseball players from their respective generations. This goes for all the various sports Hall of Fame's for me. I mean, some HoF's probably have done better than others, but my interest is nil, nonetheless.
  5. He had 20 of the Bulls' 29 in the first quarter. The Bucks just couldn't handle the Bulls size at all.
  6. Kubiak definitely my pick.
  7. Sooooo...I guess that eliminates Rex if he wasn't already... When Rex Ryan is asked who his offensive coordinator will be as HC, 1 of his strongest pitches includes Marc Trestman. They want to pair up.
  8. @MMehtaNYDN Sources: Dan Quinn wants to be next Jets HC... & he wants Kyle Shanahan to be OC & Mark Dominik in front office. #nyj
  9. Noah looks terrible.
  10. Never quite said meaningless. I do find the hiring, evaluating, retaining, and extending of a GM a pretty big responsibility. Which is why Accorsi was hired. McCaskey didn't trust Phillips to do it on his own.
  11. On the drive home today I was listening to local Arizona sports radio. Mike Jurecki, who is probably the main Cardinals insider said that he has heard that if Bowles gets a HC job, he will most likely be bringing Greg Roman on as his offensive coordinator. Well the Bills have (or will) interview Greg Roman for the HC job there, so it may not be an option.
  12. Well this is the crux of our disagreement. Not what his role is now. I'm totally clueless on your point. Everything that's been reported is that Emery had to go to Phillips for approval on transactions. But even if that's not true...we know that Pace doesn't now, which is the important thing. If Phillips has no role here other than hiring Pace, what's the concern? What's that now? What report ever said that? I heard no such thing. It's always been a question on exactly what Phillips role was. There's been reports here and there (mostly radio guys, like B&B) that Phillips had some kind of final authority on transactions. Maybe he did, maybe he didn't...ultimately, it doesn't matter...because we know he doesn't now according to everything that was said today.
  13. It's a terrible final point.
  14. You're arguing that Phillips never had anything to do with football operations. Your argument is that Phillips is meaningless and always has been. So why do you give a flying [expletive] about Phillips at all?
  15. You're arguing this backwards. What does it matter if Emery or Angelo had to go through Phillips? We KNOW that Pace doesn't! Which is the way it should be! You're arguing a very strange irrelevant point.
  16. Well this is the crux of our disagreement. Not what his role is now. Well I'm sure he'll have some influence, even Pace said he'd look for guidance on certain things, but to me you are overstating any change in Phillips role. Of course Pace said that. He's going to listen to people...good management does. But Pace has the final decision on the football operations. This isn't difficult. You have a weird thing about Phillips. Seriously.

  18. And in the simplest terms, we already know that it's different. Because Phillips had influence on football operations during those tenures, and now he does not.
  19. I don't know what you want here. I'm comparing him to Crane because both were guys that were in full president mode, and now both are relegated to the business side of things. The point is, Pace has full control of the on field product. Accorsi and McCaskey were just as involved as Phillips in this, and Pace was apparently Accorsi's recommendation. There is nothing to fear from Phillips at this point. What are you afraid of?
  20. That's not true based on what we heard today. Phillips role is unchanged. Then you didn't listen. Yes...technically Phillips is Pace's superior...but Ted will be uninvolved with football ops.
