  1. Apparently Chud wasn't an option....Colts blocked all requests.
  2. He tweeted again that he's just going off twitter reports.
  3. A Fox/Gase/Fangio regime is awfully difficult to complain about.
  4. I've had this thought and pseudo-concern, but when you think about it, is there much of a successful history of "having the next head coach on staff"? Belichick wasn't on the Patriots staff before he took the job. Tomlin wasn't on Pittsburgh's staff. Jason Garrett is about the only coach in waiting situation that I am aware of and is he all that successful? Jim Caldwell did it, but didn't last. That's very true. Belichick also didn't really succeed at the Jets (he had been at the Patriots in 1996, prior to taking HC job after leaving NY). There's a few examples of guys that were on the coaching staff of a team before leaving for some other job, and coming back to that team as HC eventually. Tom Coughlin and Mike Shanahan both did that, but it's not exactly what you're talking about.
  5. Some concerns about Gase? Matt Maiocco was asked about Gase as a potential offensive coordinator, and he reiterated that he was under the impression things did not go down very well. Earlier in the day, friend of the site Melissa Jacobs, wrote at TheFootballGirl.com that she had heard rumblings he had let recent success go to his head, and come off as cocky and entitled. http://www.ninersnation.com/2015/1/20/7863665/what-went-down-with-adam-gase-in-his-49ers-interview
  6. You can get off the schneid by beating up on a bad team though. Hopefully Shaw is back on track.
  7. Tim Sassone...yeah.
  8. Per Gil Brandt, Dick Lebeau will become LB coach in Arizona.
  9. It's interesting that they have hired some offensive assistants without having an OC. Wouldn't the OC have some say in that? Or is this how it works everywhere? Well the line coach has been a Fox line coach for a decade, under multiple OC. I'm not sure the OC has much of a say in position coaches, it seems to me the HC has authority over every coaching hire. Especially if there's some confidence that Gase is gonna get the job.
  10. The Flat Spat
  11. Apparently that happened. There were 3-4 assistant coaches hired yesterday, more or less right after the Fangio news came out.
  12. Joe DeCammilis hired by Broncos as ST coordinator.
  13. Never a bad idea to hire former head coaches as your coordinators. I'd guess Trestman does fine in this role. His problem was a complete lack of leadership skills. But...he also was a poor playcaller. Trestman was a failure in multiple areas.
  14. Whelp...the Jags hired Greg Olson as OC....I have no idea what job Gase is gonna get.
  15. Probably headed toward that. Likely will be a hybrid as we transition.
  16. So the Bears HC becomes Ravens OC. The Ravens OC became Broncos HC, and the Broncos HC became Bears HC.
  17. O....M.....G....Trestman is the OC of the Ravens....HAHAHAHA
  18. For those that care about such things, Jay Cutler had the 20th selling jersey this season, Brandon Marshall 10th, and the Bears as a team were 4th. http://www.dsg.com/jerseyreport/football/charts/rankings/team/overall/season
  19. Gotta add that drama!
  20. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/01/20/report-chip-kelly-already-plotting-to-move-up-for-marcus-mariota/
  21. Yeah, and apparently he had the Pace hire earlier too... Yeah but that Ty guy who never actually breaks anything says he's a fraud. He tweeted after that that it was just a joke, that he's actually friends with him. Is it me or did this guy not actually report that they hired Fangio? It seems like he kept saying he thinks it could happen despite other people saying it won't. But that is not the same thing as saying it happened. He didn't really report it, but it seems like he was a lot more connected in regards to Fangio and the Bears than others, especially when LaCanfora was saying last night that Washington would hire Fangio this morning...but it's all a matter of interpretation.
  22. He didn't really say that he's on the hot seat, just that the Bulls aren't afraid to eat his salary. Which could have easily been leaked by the Bulls to send a message to Thibs that his job isn't rock solid. If you watch the video, there's more "hot seat" discussion.
