That doesn't make sense to me. If they keep Cutler past the March 12th date when most of his 2016 becomes guaranteed, then doesn't that nullify that leverage?
Some good stuff from Brad Biggs this morning....google search "10 thoughts on Bears from NFL combine" to get around the paywall. He thinks Cutler still ends up as the starter for this season. Thinks McCown will be too much money for the Bears. Lots of thoughts about how the Bears might move players around in the 3-4, and that Briggs/Tillman are gone.
I definitely got the feeling that Rozner wanted the gig and was a finalist with the way they were talking him up and repeatedly calling him a professional immediately after the announcement was made. Yeah, I'm not fan of Rozner, but he handled an awkward situation well.
http://www.phillyvoice.com/last-5-years--mel-kiper-predicted-8-picks-right/ If he'd been 100% accurate, the first round picks the last 5 years for the Bears would be: 2010: None 2011: Aaron Williams 2012: Michael Floyd 2013: Tyler Eifert 2014: Timmy Jernigan
According to Robert Feder, the Score tried to hire Mac back, but he decided to go with the other gig. Then they made overtures to hire Kaplan, and considered Barry Rozner full time. Definitely got the best candidate, imo.
Or sports fans who interact with them on the internet are unreasonably insane. Yeah, I can't even imagine what it's like to be on twitter as a Chicago sports media personality. Also, UMFan....moral, not morale.
HAHA! I usually don't antagonize people on Twitter but as a dejected Bulls fan after striking out on LeBron and Wade, I mocked him for "reporting" that Wade to the Bulls was imminent. I think a lot of people mocked him and he blocked them all. Kaplan has me blocked, and I have no idea why. I didn't notice until recently. I'm sure I said something snarky to him about the Kap and Haugh ads....hehe
@LaurenceHolmes It's a good day for @670TheScore! Make sure you're listening at 1250. That means its either him or they brought one of his buddies (Goff?) Goff's earlier tweet about the announcement sure made it sound like it wasn't him.
Anybody but Laurence Holmes, please. They haven't mentioned an announcement upcoming or anything so far, so may be a false alarm. LoHo is committed to the 120sports.com thing right now, so I don't think that'll be the way they go. I'm hoping it's not Rozner.
It looks like the domain expired and was re-registered yesterday from the whois info. At this point it's probably just going to take time for all the DNS servers to "see" that re-registration. I couldn't get to it from home last night, and can't get to it on tapatalk, but the DNS servers at work apparently know where it's at.
