If he gets hit by a bat I doubt his parents would take any solace in "well at least he was distracted by something other than a phone." C'mon. I wasn't making anything close to that point. OK, then lets at least acknowledge that smart phones aren't going anywhere. People being distracted at sporting events isn't getting less common, it's getting more common. People can shout at the sky all they want about horrible technology is, but it's here for good. Which only increases the need for more netting and protection for people that are sitting close enough for bats to sail into the stands and hit them, or their kids.
