This is a bad opinion. I don't like thinking it, and maybe I should've waited until January to say it, but its not wrong. Its bad, but not wrong. There have been a million and a half articles about how the Cubs god-like defense has been on of the major, major reasons that the Cubs have had the success they've had this year. Obviously Baez isn't the sole reason for that, but he's an enormous reason for it. He's continuing to make strides at the plate, and is one of the most fun players in the league to watch play the game. That's not even mentioning the versatility that he brings that Joe absolutely loves. There's zero reason to trade Baez, and thankfully, I don't think Joe or Theo have any interest.

Javy is going to get hurt. As he gets older, he'll get hurt more often. Someone is going to try to replicate the Cubs' success next year. They'll target power and defense. Who better to fill those needs than the guys who had a dozen defensive gems and 8 game winning rbi in this postseason? This is a bad opinion.

Fox spent TONS of money to get FS1 going...if they didn't put any big time sports on there, they'd have nothing at all. Everything else gets horsefeathers ratings. They want it to compete with ESPN. And nobody complains if a playoff game is on ESPN. They risk pissing off some people that don't have FS1, but the hope is that customers will complain to the carriers, who will add the channel and pass the costs on to the subscriber.

I would love to read more analysis like this from umpires. It's one thing to watch games and evaluate, it's another to scout, but it has to be completely different to be hearing what batter and catcher are saying while watching the pitches come in. I'm surprised that Fox hasn't tried having some kind of ump expert available for replace analysis, a la the NFL.

In my delirium last night, I didn't even realize the count on Baez's hit. It wasn't till I was showing the recording of the 9th to my son this morning that I realized it....what a terrible pitch.

I don't think it's a conundrum at all. Surely Fox would prefer LA. Yeah execs definitely want LA, but I bet Joe Buck wants Dusty But all the elite hair restoration places are in LA. Tough call.
