    Especially a day before the Cubs play game 1 of the World [expletive] Series. I know we have some farm system junkies here, but who'dve thunk?

    Man, I probably shouldn't be surprised, but I'm having a helluva time finding a smaller W flag than 3x5 for my cubicle at work.

    Rain Thursday too. That will be interesting... Thursday's a travel day though. Right...but if it's rained out on Wednesday, Thursday would be the likely make up day. If it rains both days....then it will be interesting to see how they handle it.

    Someone texted me and said that Joe confirmed on this program that Schwarber was going to make the WS roster, barring any setbacks today. Anyone catch this? Nope. Roster decisions being made in meetings later today. Not at all confirmed.

    I think the only reason they'd go with Arrieta first would be if they feel like it'd be better to have him pitch sooner and give Lester an extra day. Arrieta on 6 days rest and Lester on 5 days rest, or Lester on normal rest and Arrieta on 7 days rest. I don't think it'd be about who Cleveland's pitcher is.

    Maddon said they're having their meetings to finalize the roster later today. He said timing may be an issue, but what they're really looking for is how his knee feels the day after having been out there. And that he hadn't gotten any information about that yet.

    Tues and Wednesday will be awesome...but this weekend is going to be insanity in Chicago. I won't be there, but I expect stories from everyone that is.

    Growing up, my parents didn't really care much about sports at all, But we had some older neighbors, Jim and Laura, that were like grandparents to us kids. They were always out sitting on their porch with the game on the radio, even though the game was on tv. We'd go over and sit on their stoop and listen to the game with them, and Jim was just a huge Cubs fan. He made our whole family Cubs fans. I was definitely thinking of both of them the other night.

    i had a dream where the results of the game were in limbo for some unknown reason. i've felt amazing since i woke up. Yeah, I also had dreams about it...I woke up in the middle of the night with my heart pounding and that rush of adrenaline I've had since the playoffs started. And even knowing they won, I couldn't immediately calm down.

    I'm still kind of in a weird place where I don't know how to feel and it hasn't fully sunken in yet. It might take the whole offseason to process. The 1908/1945 dates are something that we've all been raised with in our heads. One of those has been erased, and the other could/should fall too. I can't just flip a switch in my head.

    I'm somehow more emotional reading/listening/watching everything this morning than I was last night. I think it was too unreal last night...I don't think it had sunk in.

    That lady was possibly my favorite part of last night. I kept thinking of people that didn't get a chance to see this moment recently, and she reminded me of those people again. Wonderful.
