  1. I missed the first good move.. I assume he was referring to Piniella.
  2. That's what I was thinking too. He probably shouldn't expect a lot of Cover-1 bump and run. Most of the comments are ok, it's just funny how these guys do this every week, and really only Boldin and Taylor have been able to back it up at all. He probably should. I think the Beloved will load up to stop Barber. You're probably right given the WR situation on the Giants.

  4. Plaxico Burress is trash talking:
  5. Come on, how do they make this mistake? The Bears play the Jets between the Giants and Pats game. They might be trying to avoid a 4-game winning streak, but a 3-gamer would be impossible at that point. If the Bears lost to the Giants and Jets, that would mean playing the Patriots would be trying to avoid a 3 game losing streak. It is poorly written though. They won't be coming directly off of the Giants game. No, that would mean trying to avoid a 4 game losing streak. #-o I'd repressed the memorys of last week.

  8. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2654465 This makes it sound like we could be waiting until Tuesday depending on how long Seibu wants to drag this out.
  9. Sounds like they're bidding on the whole enchilada...
  10. Good luck to Steve.
  11. But it might increase strikeouts, which is the worst possible thing in the world. It would totally offset any increase in OPS, or runs scored for that matter. How is a strikeout any different than a week grounder to the second baseman?!!!!! oops, my bad my sarcasm detector was turned off. Oh man...you read a goony post without your sarcasm detector on? Always very dangerous... :P
  12. Rut Roh...he wants to play on a team with a chance to win...damn. :P
  13. Vick is flukey. He may have a great game, he may not. I still say he's way overrated. Brees has been very consistent for the most part. I'd go with Brees. EDIT: Brees lowest passing rating all season is 67.4...Vick has been below that 4 times on the season.
  14. Madden 07 has Bradley rated quite a bit better than Berrian.
  15. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/odds;_ylt=AuEV0gNhuEfeYo41zkMQLVRDubYF Looks like most places have us at +2.5 or +3...
  16. I merged the threads...lets keep all the Matsuzaka posts here please. We don't need a new thread for each rumor.
  17. Link Gotta love how he thinks the Cubs are on the South Side...
  18. Grossman is awful? Right. I meant as of late. You mean 2 out of 8 games?
  19. Someone told me today that they should go to Greise if the Bears are losing at halftime to the Giants. Are these people high? I can't beleive that rational people could come to this conclusion. Football is one sport that really brings the stupidity out of people. Even people with no clue about sports have strong opinions on the Bears. Mike North this morning was talking about how last year Orton only "lost" us a couple of games, while Rex so far has "lost" one and should have lost 2 more.
  20. Wow, really bad luck. He made some nice plays on special teams. No kidding...that was his first game back right?
  21. Or because a good portion of those that live south of the Chicago Metro area are Cardinal fans. Being 100% serious here. I would guess that the majority of people in Illinois are not Cub fans. They "may" have the most fans of any baseball team, but the Cards would give them a run for it. The Sox fanbase is pretty much on the South Side and burbs of Chicago I figure. I don't think Cards fans in Illinois come close to Cubs fans. The population is under 13 million, and almost 9 million of that is in Chicagoland. Eliminating non-baseball fans from the discussion, I think it's easy to say the Cubs fans are the largest group, with Cards and Sox fans fighting over 2nd place. Cards fans might take up more area, but not more population. Exactly. And if she doesn't realize that the Chicago area is what wins Illinois elections, she's clueless.
  22. Because in Chicago, most of the media and about half the fanbase can't let go of the past. They treat every mistake, every loss like it's the end of the world. They compare every single player to the 85 counterpart. It's idiotic, but it's something that the team has done nothing to dissuade, and the media has largely been accomplice to this. Look at the level of criticism that Grossman is getting. People were calling for Griese and even Orton after the AZ game. I know that the dopes on CSN were calling for Griese. Why? If Rex were a 29 year old veteran, i could see it, but he's like a 24 year old guy who's still basically in his first season of game play. He's going to make mistakes, but that's the price you have to be willing to pay when you are trying to develop a franchise QB. It was one loss, but the level of shock in this city right now is ridiculous. Problem is, every fan thinks they know what they are talking about, and for some stupid reason people can't grasp that Rex isn't as good or bad as his best and worst games. Players have been run out of this town by the idiotic portion of the fanbase for years, and until the media or the team put the fanbase in their place, it will never stop in Chicago. QFT. I'm sick of it...forget the freaking past.
  23. Urlacher has a sprained foot... http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/football/bears/cs-061106urlacher,1,563609.story?coll=cs-home-headlines Given that the article is all of 2 paragraphs, I'm just going to post it...I'm such a rebel.. I love this guy.
  24. I feel the same. Hopefully, it serves as a wakeup call. It comes at the perfect time, at the very least. You just hope they get away from that arrogance that seemed to cost them in the AZ and Miami games, as well as last year's playoff game. Through the first 5 games, it seemed like they had gotten past that issue. They looked incredibly focused and seemed to be playing with a purpose. It really looked like they had learned from the playoff loss. Two out of the last three games, though, they've looked like they've regressed. Goony clarified my point perfectly. I keep hearing how Lovie won't let them look ahead or get too involved in their own hype, but that's exactly what I'm seeing. I'm glad they don't really have a game to overlook the next five weeks...
