  1. You're right. Rex should block the D-line better.
  2. It's UNPOSSIBLE that there would be a sack on shotgun!!!
  3. You don't understand their frustration? I do. If you'd told me at the beginning of the season what Grossman's stats, our record, and total points scored this season at this point would be, I'd have been thrilled. The frustration with turnovers I can understand. But 4th downs happen. It's the cumulation of frustration over his bad play. It's totally understandable. It's him coming back to earth after an amazing start to a season. The first 5 or so games were the worst thing that could have happened to Rex. People built up Rex so high, that all he could do was fall.

  5. Really? Him getting stepped on, and throwing the ball away when no one was open? I'm not sure that I see those as problems with Rex.
  6. You know, he and TJ are very different runners...if the coaching staff does it right, those two can be a very good combo.
  7. 2 things that need to addressed by the rules committee this offseason. 1) Roughing the passer needs to be better defined. There has to be something a defender can do. The Giants didn't wrap up Vince Young last week because they were afraid of a roughing penalty, and now this with Urlacher. The players have to be afraid to do ANYTHING! 2) Pass Interference needs to be reviewable. It's too subjective at game speed.
  8. The roughing the passer rule has to be looked at this offseason.
  9. I'm tired of seeing the big runs against us.
  10. If Griese plays, that's a distinct possibility. He's just as turnover prone. He's not *this* turnover prone though. I really want Rex to get it together because I understand what you're saying. But this is going south so damn quick. Yes he is. His track record shows it. There's a reason Denver let him go. He would consistently make poor decisions. Football is just like baseball sometimes. You have a mediocre, veteran guy with a mediocre arm as a backup, and people throw adjectives around like "experienced", "savvy", "game manager", "ball control guy" and whatever. The only reason i could see a positive about Gries is he isnt very good at the deep ball. So turner might stop calling that play. Thats the only advantage i see. If it takes Griese being in there for Turner to make that change, then Turner needs to be fired.
  11. Hopefully the stubborness that is keeping TJ on the field will keep Grossman on the field.
  12. I'm afraid to watch. I haven't watched since the road trip. I don't want to jinx it.

  14. I admit...this surprises me. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/football/bears/cs-061128bearsbits,1,6348055.story?coll=cs-home-headlines
  15. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/football/bears/cs-061129bearssharper,1,5759451.story?coll=cs-home-headlines Apparently Darren Sharper is going on about how Rex talked trash after the game winning TD during the game in Minny. They played a Rex soundbite on the Score, and he said that some of the Vikings were talking smack the entire game and after the TD, he said he just couldn't help himself. It was actually pretty funny. One thing you can say for Rex, he doesn't dodge questions...he's pretty candid. Grossman is still our best option for the rest of this season. But he's going to have to start to show some consistency before I come around to the idea that he's a franchise quarterback.
  16. Trey Wingo just was on the NFL Live section of Sportscenter, and of course they were talking about Rex, talking about how he needs to grow, yadda yadda. It was much more tame than I thought. Then Trey comes up with this gem...and it's paraphrased from memory. "And this Bears defense isn't as dominant as the one from a year ago. You can run on this defense. The only thing that stopped the Patriots was the turnovers, or they might have scored 25-30 points." Um...Trey...that's exactly what the D did a year ago too...force turnovers! And if you're going to say that about the Pats, you have to say that about the Bears too...if it weren't for the turnovers, the Bears would've scored 25-30 as well. Dumbass.
  17. Excellent observations. This one needs an addition though. After we had success in the running game in the first half, I really think we didn't go to it enough in the second half. We had some 3 and outs were we didn't even run the ball. And for at least one series, we had Benson on 1st and 2nd down, and then Jones for 3rd's...this confuses me, because I have much more confidence in Benson on 3rd down than Jones. Jones gets stopped too easily, while Benson can run people over. Benson is greatly undervalued by the coaching staff, and I just can't let this go...it's really bothersome to me.
  18. Agreed. I'm not going to be losing a lot of sleep on this. We played right with them the whole game...the refs, the coaching, and some sloppy play (from both teams) led to a loss. My issues are Benson not being in there more, and the "throw and pray" plays that Turner was calling...
  19. Where was Bradley all game? Did they pass to him at all?
  20. At this stage, block better and become a better rec. out of the backfield. Forget all this Grossman talk. This is the real issue that needs to be talked about this week. It won't be, but it should be.
  21. Rex was bad. Coaching was bad. Refs were bad. Problem is that I really don't think Griese will be an improvement.
  22. And you had the power to insult us and cause us to play well...but nooooooooooooo
