  1. Works for me Yup, if we got Schmidt, that completely changes my desire for Lilly. I'd bring him on as a 4th-5th starter if the rest of our rotation is Zambrano/Schmidt/Hill/Miller (or Prior) Though I'm still not thrilled about what Lily would cost.
  2. I'm not sure kicking Mulder is a wise move. He may just collapse into a pile of bones and dust.
  3. This one is being discussed quite a bit already and I believe pretty much shot down: http://www.northsidebaseball.com/PremiumForum/viewtopic.php?t=37129 viewtopic.php?t=37129

  5. But hey...you were unwelcoming to Rusch too I'm sure. So at least you were equal in your unwelcoming.... :P
  6. Sounds like one way or another he's not going to be here this season.
  7. The Master Plan of ruining any and all Patterson's is coming along finely....muahahahahaha
  8. My question is how can you rave about the Vikings pass defense in this game and say they shut down Grossman, but then turn around and say the Bears D wasn't good, because it was Johnson being bad? Ever think maybe Grossman was just being REALLY bad, and maybe the Vikes didn't play very good D? This are arguments that frankly are pointless, because they're all in the eye of the beholder. Vikings and Bears fans are not going to agree on this.
  9. If the Sox ended up with A-rod, I would be severely disappointed.
  10. Man am I sick of hearing how good the Cowboys are. They needed a last second field goal to beat the Giants...a team the Bears beat by 18 a few weeks ago. Go Saints!
  11. Congrats to Ryno! He's clearly wanted to get into managing...nice to see him get a shot at it, even if he has to start in the minors.
  12.      funny stuff   Is it? How often do teams win games when their offense puts up 107 total yards and turns the ball over 5 times? The "If" game is always going to result in these kind of arguments, because everyone can play it. If the Bears have a quarterback close to league average, what happens then? If If If...
  13. I know I'm waffling back and forth on this, but if Lovie's reason for leaving Rex in there is that he thinks Rex can get it turned around, I'm ok with that. Lovie has a history of not being hesitant to make a change when necessary, so I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt here.
  14. The ignore sethuel1 button is standard interface stuff.. :D
  15. I know. I didn't think Benson had that burst when he came into the league. I was wrong. He's not only a bruising runner, but he can bounce it outside as well. It's pretty clear Benson's the better back. I know there's a loyalty to TJ, but he's no longer the best RB on the team. I still like TJ, but I'm more excited when Benson is getting carries than TJ. I'm resolved to the fact that Benson won't be the primary back this season. He's getting enough carries to do damage, and unfortunately I think we're going to have to accept that for now. But I don't think TJ will be here next year. I think Benson is going to be the primary back next year.
  16. If the Bears hadn't kept "flexing" all day, it would have been different though.
  17. Wow the 2007 QB free agent class is pretty poor. Thought I'd check to see if there was any upgrades to be made.... Nope. Matt Schaub, RFA, Atlanta Falcons Chris Simms, UFA, Tampa Bay Buccaneers Damon Huard, UFA, Kansas City Chiefs Rohan Davey, RFA, Arizona Cardinals Shaun King, UFA, Indianapolis Colts John Navarre, RFA, Arizona Cardinals Tim Rattay, UFA, Tampa Bay Buccaneers Anthony Wright, UFA, Cincinnati Bengals http://www.footballsfuture.com/2007/nfl/freeagents.html
  18. So if you bench Grossman for the rest of the season, do you make it a QB competition between him and Griese next season at training camp? Do you look at drafting another QB? What do the Bears really think of Orton as far as future potential? (Not that I want him starting any games at all this season.) I thought we had some QB stability this season. Boo. This was interesting in the Suntimes link that Soul posted...
  19. Fred Huebner said this morning that Tommie Harris is getting an MRI today.
  20. Can't say I'm surprised. Too many ppl didn't want to see the rematch.
  21. Congrats to Boise State!! As a former Boise resident, I'm thrilled for this team. They've been playing fantastic football for 3-4 years now. That entire state's sports life is about that team, and it's fantastic to see that rewarded. They deserve it.
  22. I'm going to exercise my right to change my mind. Here's what I'd like to see at this point. I'd like to see Lovie tell both Rex and Brian Griese that next week Griese will play. And that no matter what happens in that game, that Rex will get his job back after that. I feel like Rex needs a mental break. He's been getting a lot of coaching in the past few weeks I'm sure, and I feel like he's getting a little overwhelmed with info, and it's affecting his decision making on the field. A week off, just to recharge his mental batteries won't hurt. It also wouldn't be bad to see what you have with Griese. I don't think it will hurt Rex if you make it clear that anything short of a FABULOUS game by Griese would give Rex his job back the following week. But Ron Turner needs to get his head out of his ass and realize that the running game is the strength of this offense right now, and that he needs to use that much more than he is.
