  1. Tank gets to go to the Super Bowl. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/playoffs06/news/story?id=2740088
  2. That'll be a tough sell to the wife...heh.
  3. I think it was more of a speculation that they'd be interested in Lovie than a report that they are interested. I think the Bears will extend Angelo and Smith this week. But if they end up trading Lovie for picks I wouldn't cry (or did the NFL stop that following the Gruden situation?). The talent on the field is more important than the head coach. And Angelo is responsible for the talent. I would think Angelo would have a VERY tough sell PR-wise if the Bears win the Super Bowl and he doesn't want to give Lovie his payday. I don't think it would be a matter of Jerry not wanting to give Lovie his payday. It would probably come down to whether or not the ownership would approve of a top-of-the-line head coach salary or not. I'm guessing Lovie wants something in the $5-8m range, while the Bears would prefer to pay him in the $3-5m range. Do you think the average fan will make that differentiation? Most fans will just call the Bears cheap, and be pissed that they got rid of a Super Bowl winning coach. I just don't see them doing that...the Bears will cave.
  4. Something they neglect to mention when they talk about Lovie going to Dallas is that Lovie is still under contract for this next year, right?

  6. Who the heck is that? At first, it kind of looked like Cedeno, but why would they put him on anything? I actually initially thought it was Cedeno also.... It's Soriano. Though I think the likeness is terrible.
  7. I'm seeing a 66.8 rating, but great point. I hadn't realized he'd been that bad. rex's playoff's 2007 Sea 1TD 1Int Rating 76.9 2007 NO 1TD 0Int Rating 73.2 2006 Car 1TD 1Int Rating 54.1 So rexy has 3 TD's and 2 Ints and an average rating around the high 60's. Not great, but not nearly the trainrex everyone makes it out to be. I was just looking at '06 playoff stats...Rex was just beginning to play meaningful football at this time last year. Take out that Carolina game, and it looks even better.
  8. Not something I wanted to be right about with my concern...
  9. I'm seeing a 66.8 rating, but great point. I hadn't realized he'd been that bad. Key phrase put in bold http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?statsId=4256 It shows 66.8 rating in the playoffs this season.
  10. Well now the article about Tank maybe not being able to go to Miami is on CNN.com's front page. I don't know what to believe now.
  11. I'm seeing a 66.8 rating, but great point. I hadn't realized he'd been that bad.
  12. PS2, PS3, XBox, XBox 360, PSP, GBA, Nintendo DS No Wii?
  13. I can't get to gamespot from work...any word on what systems it will be available on?
  14. I'm confused... this guy saysTank may not be able to go to Miami. This articlesays he's already cleared to go.
  15. Dr Z picks the Colts to win big. He doesn't think that teams can force turnovers in the Super Bowl. He didn't mention a thing about Chicago's defense outside of the turnovers. Not a word.
  16. The Saints have nothing to be disappointed about. They will be a team to take seriously next year. Not that they shouldn't have been taken seriously this year. They were the team I was most afraid of in the NFC this year. Brees is an awesome QB. If Brees had time he could have done a lot of damage. I'm not sure why the Saints abandoned the running game just to ease the pressure but Peyton knows his team and I'm sure he had a reason. The reason I think was that Deuce got hurt in that first quarter. He came up limp after being hit low on a pass. He got up limping around and grimacing. After that play, he only had 3 rushes the entire rest of the game. I feel like they mainly kept him in there as a decoy and had to run the obligatory rush with him every so often to try and show that he was still a factor. It kind of sucked keeping him in there though because most of the times that Brees got hurried or sacked it was because the DE got past Deuce, who is normally an outstanding pass-rush blocker. I forgot about that. He was limping around a little bit. The only reason I would question this is that if this was the case, why wouldn't something have been said about it postgame? The Saints don't really have any reason to keep something like that under wraps after losing the NFC Championship.
  17. I know it's early, but it'd be fun if Saints-Bears could turn into a Colts-Pats type rivalry where we meet in the playoffs each year.
  18. Well this opens up another spot that Ron Rivera could be considered for...and with the lateness of the opening, he could stand a better chance. As far as Parcells, I'm pulling for him to replace Irvin on ESPN.
  19. He was fired or he stepped down? He's retiring. Just saw it on NFL Network. http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/story/9947247
  20. I was very happy the Colts won. I think the Bears match up much better. The Colts went on a stretch there where they struggled HUGELY to stop the run, and I think the Bears can take advantage of that weakness, even if it's shored itself up a good amount in the playoffs. I think we can stop the run, and force Peyton to try to beat us (which he may well do). The Pats are scarier to me. Possibly it's just the mystique. Either way, I'd much rather have the Colts there, because even if we lose, I'll be glad it was Peyton rather than Brady.
  21. Lots of Saints fans appear to be blaming the refs.
  22. I'm reading through the Saints message board...they think that Buck was announcing with bias against them! Eye of the beholder I guess.
  23. I'm floored that the Saints only had 12 rushes...12!!
  24. I want a picture of Urlacher's hit on...Colston I think?
