  1. And when they get to the Super Bowl, they'll have the NFC stigma to deal with. What network has the Super Bowl this year? Pretty sure it's Fox. I wish it was NBC. I'm wrong...it's CBS.

  4. College football is over early enough that it's possible he just didn't play in a whole heckuva lot of cold weather.
  5. more than New Orleans Minnesota 21 Degrees, (15 at game start) Seattle 35 degrees off the top of my head coldest games for New Orleans 42 at Pittsburgh 54 at NYG Comcast just played part of an interview with Drew Brees where he said, and I'm paraphrasing, that they've all played in cold weather, some more than others, and that they played in Pittsburgh this year, and that was "pretty chilly". I have some man love for ya Drew, but this is gonna be a bit more "chilly"...
  6. 5 of 7 CNNsi writers pick New Orleans.
  7. So far, every ESPN guy has picked New Orleans. (They don't put John Clayton's pick on here though.) 4 of 6 CBS Sportsline guys picked the Bears.
  8. I think this may have been more accurate at the beginning of the season, and since pass protection isn't something that most fans are typically watching, the myth has perpetuated.
  9. I'll see your New Orleans psychic and raise you a Chicago psychic. http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/bears/215577,CST-SPT-vside18.article
  10. Really? Horn actually might play? I know his presence on the field alone causes problems, but do you think he'll be as effective not at 100%? Either way, that puts a hitch in the Bears defensive plans. Well there were several rumors coming from anonymous players that Horn wasn't as injured as the Saints front office made him out to be. That's shady :) Wouldn't put it past Payton...he's nasty like that. Although if they were gonna do that they should have waited until game time to unleash him. Now the Bears have time to factor him into their defensive schemes. Maybe thats what he wants... Yep...put Joe as probable even if he isn't gonna play so the Bears have to gameplan for him.
  11. So wait...the secondary is suspect, the Saints are ranked 23rd in rushing defense, but saying that the Saints have defensive issues is wrong?
  12. Eh, they're different types of backs, and they should be used in different situations. Jones has earned the starting spot though, so I don't see how everyone still is fighting for Benson to get it. Jones quietly ran for 1200 yards, and is a much better at picking up the blitz on passing downs. Benson is the bruiser of the two, and should be used in up the middle situations and occasionally on stretch plays so he doesn't become one dimensional. Just my opinion though, I know others feel differently. Problem is that Lovie seems to use them in the opposite situations in which they would seem to be appropriately used. That "picking up the blitz" thing is flat out wrong. The commentators last week did a nice job of pointing out Benson picking up blitzes nicely last week (though the line didn't do as well sometimes). Lovie loves to bring in Jones for 3rd downs, which seems to be ridiculous given the ability Benson has to run for a few extra yards when he's seemingly wrapped up.
  13. I would never actually argue that the Saints have a better defense. That would certainly be silly. The Bears D is frightening and makes me nervous. However, my original reason I pulled out defensive stats over the last half of the season is to show that the Saints D has improved and shouldn't be overlooked. They deserve respect. The point is, though, that the defense, especially the secondary, is the Saints weakness. At this point in the playoffs, each phase of each team deserves respect.
  14. Cool idea having them updated daily.
  15. Completely ignoring HFA and just glossing over the weather.
  16. KC Joyner has a nice ESPN Insider articleabout this game.
  17. I like the diving Berrian TD catch from near the beginning of the season, but really that was probably more Berrian than Rex on that play.
  18. I frequent kffl.com I haven't gone there a whole lot, but http://www.dabearz.com has a forum and is pretty active in having friendly rivalries with other teams message boards depending on the game of the week. Seems like a good bunch from the little I know. I just don't have time to be an active member of multiple boards. This one already consumes too much of my time.
  19. Guys, there's nothing wrong with Saints fans posting in this thread as long as it's civil....
  20. That Eagles cover was actually two weeks ago before Wild Card weekend when the Eagles beat the Giants. This was last weeks with Florida on the cover. The page I linked says it was 1/8, which would have been 9 days ago, just after the Eagles beat the Giants. But judging by the cover you're right...it looks like it was meant to be prior to wild card weekend.
  21. No need, I'll just quit talking about it. Thanks. I really didn't want to have to go through and filter those posts out.
  22. Were the Seahawks in the playoffs while they were in the Kingdome?
