  1. Prior isn't in the majors though, is he?
  2. Based on that it's probably fair to assume.. Soriano Jones Lee Ramirez Floyd Barrett Derosa Izturis Lilly
  3. His "unclutchness" is also overblown because of his salary and where he plays. "He makes so much money he should hit 2 home runs every time he bats!"
  4. They may not draw a ton of walks, but they aren't swinging at the first pitch every at bat either. Sheets threw 100 pitches by the time he left in the 6th. That's a big difference from last year when every pitcher was "Cy-fill-in-the-blank".
  5. Grand slam in the 9th to win it for the Yanks.

This thread is the bestest! :facesjump:
  7. You had the same bad luck injuries last year... Yep...hopefully this is of the short variety though...I don't need anything like Derrek Lee last year...
  8. Victor Martinez in a meaningless snow game....
  9. Players stay on waivers for three days after they are released. Waivers currently run on Saturday night and Wed night. So if the player is released on Thursday, he won't pass through waivers in time for the Saturday night waiver run, so he won't be available until Th morning. I could set up waivers to run every day, thus ensuring that no player is unavailable for more than three days after their release or addition to the DB (in the case of new minor leaguers being added). I'm all for the "every day" option personally.
  10. Maybe it's because he and izturis are the only ones hitting behind lee and ram to drive them in? barret and jones have done pretty much, nothing so far. Well the reverse of that is that Soriano and Jones aren't hitting, so Lee and A-Ram have no one to drive in. 6 of one and half a dozen of the other. Either way. Everybody INFRONT of and BEHIND lee and ram need to start hitting. I think we can all agree on that. True.

  12. I voted Cuban, but Levin is right there for me. I wouldn't be upset with either.
  13. I'm surprised that with Derosa hitting as well as he has, that Lou hasn't tried him in 2nd spot, at least when Murton isn't starting.
  14. Yeah, it's not the same. And maybe it's just the idea of an indoor park bothers me. The only indoor baseball game I've ever been to was at Miller.
  15. Yeah I miss County Stadium as well. Another co-worker that used to live in the Milwaukee area agrees as well. That place was a much more enjoyable place to take in a ballgame.
  16. I'm actually all for a new park. Even a "New Wrigley". Keep the old park there as a landmark. Build a new one (don't ask me where..) with a lot of similar features as Wrigley, but with modern updates. I'm a fan of the team. The park is great, but not the end all and be all of my fandom.
  17. Even beyond that, I think part of the problem is that a lot of Steve's opinions are based on personal relationships. He seems to be very sensitive to criticism.
  18. I could be reading into things here, but I think Cuban's silence on this topic shows that he has some interest. If he didn't have an interest, there wouldn't be any harm in his coming out and saying so.
  19. he had FIRE! and INTENSITY!
  20. Watch no one bid on Lance....
  21. That only works if one person does it, though. We know Hosak has said he's taking ARod with the #1 pick. Can the #2 & #3 people in the line PM me with who you're taking (I'm too far down the line for me to get in the way of your pick). That way I can orchestrate this thing. Thanks, Tim How about you just make some person like Macias the equivalent of Berkman? Anyone that wants Berkman bids on Macias instead. Then when they get him, you can switch them out.
  22. i don't think cuban has enough money by himself. he'll have to head up an ownership group or something. i doubt that anyone will buy a franchise as expensive as the cubs by themselves. And that's fine. That doesn't preclude Mark from expressing interest, or saying he's looking into it, or that he isn't interested. I'm not asking for him to go all gung ho or anything. I'd just like some acknowledgement of the situation. But maybe he wants to play things close to the vest. I understand it, but the greedy "I wanna know" side of me wants him to say something! :P
  23. I wish Cuban would make some comment about whether or not he's interested. If he's not interested, I'd like to know that so we can get that out of the discussion.
