You can find that quote with the daily Carrie "literary scribe" at cubs.com. The difference is that the veterans Piniella is referring to are actually pretty good players, whereas Baker would talk about sitting a top prospect in favor of people like Neifi There's really no difference. Lou's an idiot with regard to this. Hopefully he's not as dumb as Dusty with everything else. Yeah, I think Lou is a big step up from Dusty, but he has his flaws, and this is one of them. To me it sounds like when Pie got playing time and Jones was splitting RF with two other players, he went and bitched to Lou. Lou caved. Just my opinion. -
You own a ferrari. It runs great. It's the fastest car in town. Then one day, the engine starts knocking and it won't go faster than 65. Which is more likely? Something is wrong with the engine, or its just not that good of a car?
