  1. I haven't even heard of the guys that picked the Dbacks.
  2. Id much rather see at least the Wensday start be at 8:30 est instead of 10:30. So at least I get some sleep 1 night. I get up at 5 am for work lol Im gonna be a walking zombie by Friday morning if both games start at 10:30 est. Well I'm gonna say Phil is wrong. Here's Wednesday's TBS schedule... http://www.tbs.com/schedule/0,,2110307,00.html The last game starts at 8:30est/7:30cst per that schedule.
  3. it would be 8:30est on Wednesday...they don't have a later start time than that for Wednesday. But yes...10:30est on Thursday appears to be the rumor.
  4. Oh well...better to be completely stupid tired on a Friday than early in the week....
  5. Shouldn't those games start at 9:35 instead? I know a lot of you might not like the late start but for once it works for me! Well the lastest possible start on wednesday is 7:30. The 9:30 one is going to SUCK.
  6. It still shows as "To be determined" here.
  7. Yeah...you could amend that to "Who's playing? I'm just here for the beer."
  8. All of the division series games, AL and NL, are on TBS. http://msn.foxsports.com/other/story/6843822
  9. I'm sure Dusty would fix that right up... :P
  10. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/writers/jon_heyman/09/28/friday.scoop/2.html Probably not much to it other than sportswriter speculation, but still, please let this happen.
  11. Well for me...duh. But also for Kerry Wood. That guy has deserved better than the injury gods have given him.
  12. Murton has a higher overall grade than Soriano.
  13. I know it defies conventional thinking, but I think Soriano is better when he's a free swinger. The few times that he's tried to be patient, he ends up striking out. If his production is reliant on his free swinging, so be it. But he shouldn't be batting leadoff. Also I'm guessing these reports were done earlier in the season...so Soto and Trachsel aren't there.
  14. Yost is going nowhere.
  15. They showed the Cubs rookies in costumes after the game yesterday on CSN. Pie as a baby. Fontenot in some slutty Bo Peep thing. Fuld is Batgirl. I'm trying to figure out who Wonder Woman and Supergirl are though. And someone in a green outfit that I can't really tell what it is. Oh and Raggedy Ann....that one might be Gallagher. Anyone figure out all of them?
  16. Long time no see.... Thanks Chief!
  17. What about Kendall's numbers do you like, especially batting 2nd? Soto should be starting. Well, it could be that Kendall's career Ave/OBP/OPS against the Reds is .318/.408/.873. Or he is .324/.398/.834 @ the GABP. Or .310/.393/.791 career hitter in September. I'll give Lou the benefit of the doubt on this one. How about not worrying about last September or the September before that? How about looking at the awful September that he's had so far this year?
  18. He ripped them mercilessly, to the point where he was the sports radio equivalent of public enemy #1 here. Fans would call sports talk shows for hours on end to call Keith Law everything imaginable. I refuse to criticize him for speaking the truth, lest I be the same as the knuckle-dragging Cardinal fans. And hey, he has his opinion and he's consistent about it...
  19. Did Keith Law complain when the 83 win Cardinals won the World Series?
  20. Agreed. Hopefully the ownership stuff is settled soon enough that we can add one more SP (or maybe, dare I say it, Prior stays and contributes at some point next year) and a bat at either SS or in the OF. If that happens, this could be a really good team next year. That's without even mentioning Soto possibly playing regularly and coming into his own, or other young players realizing some potential...(Pie or Hart perhaps?)
  21. I think this whole team is going to hit more homers next year. I think we had a flukishly bad homer year...and I think it will come back to what it should be next year.
  22. I have to change the cat litter tonight. It will be about as interesting as soccer. :sunny:
  23. Yeah I'm not even thinking about the playoff game. That would represent a massive failure that I refuse to consider.
  24. Just because he doesn't pitch more than 30 pitches right now doesn't mean he can't. I realize he's had problems with that in the past, but he really seems healthy now. And Hendry has shown a lot of loyalty to a lot worse players...I think he'll be back, at the very least as a reliever. I'm pretty sure he can't. Hopefully Hendry won't be around to make those decisions. What worries me about Wood is that he doesn't throw enough strikes on a consistent basis to be an effective reliever. He also hasn't shown that he can pitch at all 3 out of 5 days if need be. And he's likely to cost a lot for a reliever. I'm not at all convinced that Hendry is going anywhere. And he loves to pay a lot for relievers...if you're gonna pay a reliever, I'd rather it be Kerry.
