  1. Ugh, McLouth. Let's end it NOW. No more ATL batters after this guy.
  2. I don't think I'd want to have contacts if I was playing sports at this level. Are you serious? Players in contact sports (no pun intended) wear them all the time. He's a damn relief pitcher, not a middle LB.
  3. So does Gregg not believe in contacts or does he like looking like a chop?
  4. If that's the case, there's not much of a competition right now. It's Fox by a landslide.
  5. The bankruptcy court is not going to hold up the sale. That's $900 million that could be used to pay the Tribune's creditors and that's more than a fair price as far as the Tribune Co is concerned. Approval of the sale is just a formality.
  6. See Soriano, Alfonso I figured that would be the response, but he seems to K more. Maybe that's just my warped perception of reality.
  7. On Bradley: Has anyone ever seen such a supposedly great hitter with so many weak IF groundouts?
  8. Wasn't Ricketts hand picked by Selig? There's no way he doesn't get approved. As long as fan boy Ricketts says OK, Hendry sould be able to add some payroll now.
  9. If it weren't for the DH on Sunday, then I would be surprised if they didn't go with 11 pitchers. But because of that, I'm afraid they will stick with 12. We do have an off day on Thursday, though.
  10. They could give up that silly notion and just send Hart and Shark down. That would be a possibility too. I was really thinking more of the idea of cutting back to 11 pitchers than which pitcher would go down. That is what I was guessing, but I think someone said that Patton should be right near (or maybe at) the 90 days of service he needs to have on the major league roster to satisfy the Rule 5 requirements. Meaning he could go on the DL clearing a roster spot.
  11. That looks good to me.
  12. I know it hasn't been officially announced yet, but does anyone want to speculate as to who the Cubs might throw for the DH on Sunday? I am making the trip up north from Texas and will be in the bleachers for both games. If they follow the normal rotation, it looks like it would be Wells and Dempster. But with the day off on Thursday and the AS break coming right after, any chance they throw Z on short rest?
  13. DLee is really the one who deserves to go, but there are too many good first basemen in the NL for that to happen.
  14. I think the Brewers are going to kill us. Every time someone says this, the inevitable opposite happens. There, does that offset the optimism that is sure to jinx the Cubs?
  15. I blame Brenly's baseball shoes for today's loss. If he doesn't wear them tomorrow, we should win the series.
  16. TWO OUT RALLY TIME! WE ARE GOING TO WIN THIS GAME!
  17. How about we spend that money on a big mothertrucking bat? That's what I'd do. As much as I'd love to add Peavy to the team, starting pitching is the least of our concerns right now. A bat and another bullpen arm rank higher on the list of needs.
  18. Why do you distinguish between "home games" and "Wrigley"? Did I miss another game at Wrigley North?
  19. All those moves sound good to me. It would also be awesome if we could find away to sneak Aaron Miles into a deal for a bullpen arm. Maybe other teams don't realize he's Aaron Miles... Trade him to St. Louis for DeRosa.
  20. Ooh, a fellow Aggie. Very nice. With that being said, I don't expect much out of him.
