    Damn, I didn't realize that the regular season opener was tonight until about an hour ago.

    It wouldn't surprise me to find out that Cutler played at least some portion of the first half with a concussion. The line was atrocious, but there were several plays where Cutler held onto the ball for way too long sometimes missing wide open receivers. Another minor thing that drove me nuts was Cutler running out of bounds for a loss. There is no excuse for that. Once you are outside of the pocket, just throw the [expletive] ball away if you can't find anyone open or run for positive yardage.

    Oh, it won't surprise me to see him get a 3-year deal. I guess I was just (foolishly) hoping the Cubs could re-sign him a 1 or 2-year deal. He's going to be 35 before Opening Day, so I would be nervous giving him a long term deal at this point.

    Even the announcers said at some point in the first half that Hester had become a "mediocre" punt returner. I laughed at that and let everyone around me know that they were idiots. Thank you Devin for making me look smart for once. :)

    Girardi would cost too much to convince to come here. Sandberg is a slam dunk. It's great for marketing and the majority of clueless Cubs fans want this. Sandberg's not a slam dunk. He's only a slam dunk if the team is a slam dunk to be good. I don't think he meant that Sandberg was a slam dunk to be a successful manager, just that it would be a slam dunk from a PR standpoint.
