He played 3 games. And it seems like people are often asking if there's any chance he can make a return in the playoffs. Well sure...but I don't know how you can have watched this team the whole season and then say Schwarber is your favorite player of 2016. Love the guy but come on...this team has been amazing without him. I love this team but Schwarber is still my favorite player for a myriad of reasons.

Damn. Just saw the news on Twitter. I never got to meet Fred but always enjoyed his posts on the game threads in years past. I haven't been on them as much lately but I did notice his absence. Hate to hear the reason why. Thoughts and prayers to his family & friends.

So happy with the 6th starter making an appearance in the rotation again this week. That means I get to see Lester & Arrieta pitch Friday & Saturday in Houston.

Texas A&M was far from hot garbage. I didn't see much of that, but on the whole the SEC was AWFUL. Yikes. Oh, I agree that the SEC as a whole has been awful but A&M and Georgia both had good wins today. Alabama looks damn near unbeatable like usual.

one of them might lose in the south. wait, I don't remember if we decided Texas was in the south or not Geographically, yes. Culturally, no. But yeah, the SEC looks like hot garbage so far outside of BAMA. Big 12 isn't exactly looking great either. Texas A&M was far from hot garbage.

I heard that. He also gave a shout out to former Dodgers pitcher Rick Sutcliffe. I realize that it was the Dodgers broadcast but you couldn't at least mention that he pitched for the Cubs too? He did win a GD Cy Young in Chicago. And he let us know Ben Zobrist's full name not once but twice during the same AB. I'd rather hear him try to say Zobrist backwards.

Ugh. I watched the first 5 innings or so of the Dodgers broadcast thanks to stupid Dish not having a deal with ABC (or WGN, for that matter). He was so horsefeathering boring.

A magic number for an American League team is completely worthless because we need the All Star game to mean something. It still would've been worthless before the All Star game "meant" anything. Not if MLB did the right thing and awarded HFA for the World Series based off record, (cue the unbalanced schedule argument)
