  1. I like you, Yu
  2. we get it they're still winning you get what? my bad juju yes, yours and everyone else's bad juju (if I know this term right i think it means mojo and not the poster). I mean, yes, I'm as pissed and frustrated as anyone, I assure you. But, the team is still winning and they really do hold their fate in their hands. they can't lose much (or much at all) and lol baseball (doesn't seem to apply to STL or Milwaukee (I don't know their capital letter shorthand)) but lol baseball pendulum can just as easily swing to the cubs. Just win today and see what happens tomorrow. They're winning so far and so no reason to really be negative about this game.
  3. when the cubs win today (they absolutely will) and tomorrow (prob) Sunday's game is going to be BIG
  4. reminder that the cubs are ONE game out of a wild card spot (and i'm honestly pessimistic at least half the time)
  5. i don't but it doesn't make your outlook on life any less depressing
  6. That's the worst thing about sports in general. It's hard to really enjoy the misery knowing it means some other turds are happy. I’m finding emotional attachment to teams in general to be quite draining. Wish I could just latch onto a story or something here is kyle's favorite story
  7. That's the worst thing about sports in general. It's hard to really enjoy the misery knowing it means some other turds are happy. nobody enjoys misery regardless of anyone else's happiness, psycho. that being said, yes, it's annoying as hell that they seemingly NEVER horsefeathering LOSE
  8. My bad, didn't see Weis's post in yesterday's game thread. No problem - Sofa sent me PMs and I told him I'd give philosophizer until 12 to post a GT and then I would if he did not. I was at lunch and it was a bit later. If anything the GT "drama" keeps our minds off of the waning playoff position. Let's keep avoiding reality as long as we can?
  9. I was just following Sofa’s request. I also posted in the game thread I’d get one up if the guy scheduled didn’t do it. I just wanted to give him time in case he wanted to last min. I’m not handing out blame, just pointing out facts. Oh I know. I’m not blaming anyone for anything, either. Just explaining why I waited and why I posted one. Mods can feel free to merge/delete whatever

  11. Today the Chicago Cubs start their ace Alec Mills against Mike Wacha. There’s some Wacha Seasame St. joke in there somewhere I think but I’m on my phone and the joke probably sucks. Just like a joke about how Mills is a fitting name for a cubs pitcher...Alec “Windy” Mills. I actually think I feel more comfortable with Mills rather than Hamels. All horrible dad jokes aside the cubs need to horsefeathering win today. Win today and worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Don’t scoreboard watch. Just horsefeathering win and let’s have more bad dad jokes on Saturday.
  12. If philosphizer doesn’t have a thread up by noon I’ll get one up. *noon EST
  13. Theo wanted both (obviously). Those are on PTR Man, I love the PTR meme more than anyone, but I will never believe ever that the FO was suddenly broadsided by out of nowhere financial restrictions by the Ricketts. Yeah, the owners are lame as horsefeathers, but this is largely a repeat of the kind of horsefeathers bad spending Epstein got bogged down by in Boston. I’m just working under the assumption that it’s true the team didn’t know they “had money” for Kimbrel this year until after Zobrist took his leave. You may be right, but all signs lead me to believe they were hamstrung in not spending any additional money this offseason.
  14. The wind has died down to nothing almost. A dong is upcoming
  15. They’re about to win this you ninnies
  16. I’m slightly more confident in Cishek
  17. Both signing Kimbrel and trading for Castellanos were the type of moves this galaxy-brained FO should have done in their sleep BEFORE THE horsefeathering SEASON STARTED. Like, who could have possibly predicted the terrible bullpen and the terrible OF would be areas of need? GEE, IT'S A REAL PUZZLER. Theo wanted both (obviously). Those are on PTR
  18. Good one. They’re going 1-2-3 without a whimper and you know it. Yeah. No way they can score one (or two) runs the bottom of this inning. I can’t remember the last time they even scored 3 in this situation
  19. Well this walkoff will be extra fun now
  20. Ohhh snap. Last time he played...
  21. this is probably (almost assuredly) a reach of a post...but just substitute "basket" for "money" and that was my reaction during the whole review
  22. God I'm such a pessimist today that I thought the poor guy died. Glad to hear (@ESPNChiCubs) he's only retiring.
