  1. I think he has always had the talent to make great plays, it's just that he sometimes screws up the easy ones.
  2. I think this might just be Hendry posturing. He doesn't want to seem desperate to other teams, especially when the cubs have been playing poorly of late. Deep down I'm sure he will "keep doing everything possible to try to improve this ball club".
  3. A double play would be really nice right now
  4. I'm sure DLee would be the first guy to tell you that he should have had that one. /color analyst
  5. Fred do you have the overall GIDP stats of the Cubs and their opponents this year? It has got to be overwhelming in the cubs' favor. CUBS 80, Opponents 65 Ah, thanks. Not as extreme as I thought it would be, but still nearly 25% more than their opponents.
  6. No play for Mr Gray. The 'stache is trash
  7. I predict a Soriano starts a hot streak tomorrow that will get this offense out of this funk they're in. ETA: His bat just seems a little bit slow still. It's gotta catch up soon I would imagine.

  9. The Just for Men commercials featuring Keith Hernandez make me want to gouge my eyes out.
  10. remember Fonte-no skills? and genital wuertz I think i probably subconsciously erased that from my memory
  11. The thought of Howry pitching today made me throw up a little in my mouth.
  12. So far so good. Now lets give him some breathing room boys!
  13. Plus the fact that he wasn't very sharp last inning. I have no problem with being extra cautious right now.
  14. I'll be the first to tell you I've never seen him pitch before today. That said, seeing his fastball today, it was anything but straight. I cannot vouch that it was what he has done in the past or what he will do, but it was moving a lot today. His slider was about average IMO, but if he commanded his fastball, I think he has what it takes right now to be a very effective ML reliever.
  15. Lucky for Jeff he doesn't throw straight as an arrow.
  16. Off topic to the subject at hand, but the Wright brothers first took flight at Kill Devil Hills, NC. Not sure why Dayton, OH keeps trying to steal our thunder... :-k congrats north carolina for being windier than dayton. that's all north carolina provided. all the hard work was done in dayton. So it is true that they are bitter in OH. Sorry, in NC we got wind, water, hills, mountains, beach, plains, valleys, etc. You see we have whatever it is that you're looking for. I just think it's funny that OH tries to take credit for the first flight, that's all. Our soil, our credit. Carry on. haha, i don't really care. around here they say the people in north carolina are the bitter ones. i'm still a chicagoan at heart. I'm just getting a rise out of you too. Half credit is fine by me, I just like to egg people on (cordially). To be honest, ppl around here don't talk about it that much. The only reason I know the Wright bros are from OH is from Wright St. U and OH license plates.
  17. Don't worry Mod, I'll do the grunt work
