  1. you'll be waiting a while. these are a bunch of polished professionals that just happen to be swaggy af Eh, they're not even that; Schwarber is the only with a decent bat flip. I want Baez to succeed just because he'd actually be the "don't give a fullback"-type they need more of. Right now they're kind of a collection of goofy young men having good, clean fun. Dorks, if you will. there's nothing dorky about this team. on the actual field most don't do anything out of the ordinary, in regards to extracurricular things like bat flips(i wish more did). but you don't have to look too hard to see that this team has a hell of a lot of fun and confidence. they know #wearegood and it's more in the nuances than actual actions on the field.

  3. I was just trying to decide this earlier today. And I think it's Schwarber for me. gun to my head it would probably be montero. i dont know if its the fact he looks 40 and playing with a bunch of "kids" or his twitter account but i love the hell out of that mother [expletive]. rizzo would be second. i think. and then i start the whole evaluation process over at this point which is why i just figured i'd love them all equally like a proud dad. Yeah, Montero is actually my favorite and mostly because of his twitter account. Though, he cracks me up when he does goofy [expletive], like sprinting to first after walks, too. I'm thinking mainly as my favorite "kid" that should be here long-term. It was Rizzo for the longest time, even after Bryant came up. But, I think I like Schwarber more. One, for his 90s rap walk-up music. (Though, Rizzo's walk-up music certainly isn't a negative for him.) But, mainly, I love when he admires his homers. hell, i'd love him for no other reason that he called schwarber a hitting ma-cheen in his post-game interview. he's also been super cool about having to split time with not only ross but now schwarber when he's clearly a starting-caliber C.
  4. For me, it's whoever donged most recently. i tried that. but hell i even love Herrera because of his preposterous bucket/rally hat. this team is truly awesome.

  7. I keep trying to figure out what Cub is my favorite. I finally decided today I'm like a parent with multiple children - I love them all equally.
  8. proof that this happened http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b137/Hornkohl/CUBS005-1.jpg I used to have my location as "Pirate Country" (I graduated and work for ECU, the "Pirates"). Not that anyone should have been any the wiser, but Fred messaged me and asked if I wanted to go to the Cubs game in Pittsburgh when he was in town. It was one of the nicest things any "stranger" (as in never actually officially met) ever did and I still appreciate it to this day.
  9. Welp. Those were probably the 13 happiest minutes of my day (until the Cubs win tonight, of course). Also, it kind of makes me sad that Castro isn't a part of your sig anymore. But I'm afraid that adding him back would reverse his positive mojo. Can you post the original pic? Maybe I'll just cut him out and make him my sig.
  10. Looking at the radar, I doubt they get this one in. don't steal his thunder! (no pun intended)
  11. just enough time to finish this episode of Marco Polo that I started last night.
  12. Wasn't he hitting 93/94 in his rehab? Or am I imagining that? from what i recall i think it was 90/91
  13. well, hopefully only for 2015. I still hold out hope he can come back next year and be Ramirez of 2014
  14. not including tonight's game, Jake has a .91 ERA in the second half

  16. Remember when the Cubs' bench was a weakness? It's about to be exactly the opposite.
  17. Because it's a DH? seriously. Christ people were throwing fits for taking Lester out two days ago and now he complains about leaving Arrieta in. Don't overextend him, but there's no harm in running him back out there to at least start the 8th.
  18. that's equal parts awesome and random. is it some variation of the cochlear implant?
  19. And as TT already mentioned, Schwarber is still coming back from an injury and maybe not throwing him back behind the dish so quickly would be wise.
  20. It is a double header with 30 minutes in between games. They aren't going to pinch hit with Montero and make him catch 13 straight innings just because you hate Ross. They have Schwarber and madden has already said Schwarber won't be catching Arrietta. RUSSELL!!
