  1. i think most of the reaction to his low k-rate is silly, even if i get it in the context of the fastball. Hes only like 20, he's never pitched above A+ ball, is it any surprise he doesnt really know what he's doing up there yet
  2. its awesome that mike trout and ohtani are on the same team. they are both so freaking good.
  3. yeah it's Ugly Jose, i knew he was *good* but seeing his production for like the last year + completely knocked my socks off at AA, he hit 3 HR in 113 G Lindor hit 7 in 109 G they've each hit 36 in the last year i only guessed right because i looked at the leaderboard the other day and was shocked to see him so high. I thought he was struggling to start the year off but it looks like he got it together
  4. when im commish: 1.)Teams can sign maxed out FAs on a sliding scale, so ok you have steph curry for $30m, the next max you can offer is $22.5m, after that $15m, or something like that. 2.) There's no draft, all college players who lose eligibility or declare become FAs. 3.) There is a lottery that determines which teams (of those who missed the playoffs or have traded into lottery position) have higher budgets to sign "rookies." This way Sacramento can offer Ben Simmons 5/150 if they want, but the Warriors can only offer him 5/25 or something like that. There is certainly no downside to this or way to rig the system.
  5. the problem i have with vlad (as much as it can be a problem) is that he looks like miguel cabrera, only he's 19 and he reminds me of 31 year old miguel cabrera
  6. yeeeeeeesh. mariners have to be estatic if this can somehow get them out of that contract
  7. I like how the reality is that out of very very very very few teams in our lifetimes, every good and very good team goes up and down and has good pitching sometimes and good hitting at others and we just don’t notice it because we only watch the cubs
  8. "If you look at the metrics, Quintana has been one of the most reliable starters in all of major league baseball"
  9. *almora hits a slow ground to the left side* Len: Teheran's gotta hurry!
  10. (derwood post) no jason heyward vs a righty?
  11. "wtf is derwood talking about" - me in the every thread
  12. Going all the way back to 1990, only 14 starters threw more innings than Tyler Chatwood's 2018 (coming into today) and had a worse BB/9. Technically just 12, really, since Dontrelle Willis and Oliver Perez each appear on the list twice.
  13. this uber-patient cubs team is so much better to watch. I love it when they start a series off by burning up the bullpen in game 1
  14. it must be so obnoxious pitching to kris bryant
  15. the cubs are more fun when they play terrible teams
